2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
On my magazine conventions I
have used include:
•A re-occurring colour scheme
and house style
•Photography from a live event
• Used the Guttenberg design
principle for my design layouts
• Placed the masthead in the
primary optical area of the
cover.
•Used banners along with cover
lines
3. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
As the genre of the magazine is
targeted at an niche audience, I have
used images which clearly identify
the music genre of the magazine due
to the clothing styles of the artists.
It represents the younger generation
as the imagery features newer bands
as well as more well know artists, this
represents how the teenagers of the
modern society aren’t all interested in
the mainstream music of today.
I have also set the price of the
magazine at £2.50, this is due to the
stereotypical view of teenagers
having a less money.
4. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Freeway Press inc.
This institution may distribute
my magazine as it is the
publisher for British
Rocksound magazine which is
similar to that of the magazine
I have created as they are both
aimed at a more underground
audience.
Future Plc Publishing's
This institute would also be a
possible distributor for my
product as this company

7. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
One of the technologies I have
learnt to use is the blogging
site Blogger, which I have used
to upload my finished product,
Another technology I have learnt
to use is Adobe Photoshop, this I
have used to create my product
and manipulate the images used
in the product.
I have also used the site Slideshare to
display my front cover essays.
8. Looking back at your preliminary task,
what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Since the preliminary task
of creating a college
magazine I believe I have
gained a greater
knowledge of Photoshop's
ability to manipulate
images.
Along with this I believe
that I have a greater
understanding of the
Guttenberg design
principle and have been
able to produce images of
a higher quality.
