1. Ovary
Identification characters :
• Cortex and medulla can be seen.
• Graffian follicles can be seen easily.

2. Location :
 Ovaries are located on either sides of the uterus

Testis

3. Location :
 These are located in a hollow sac
 like structure called scrotum which lie outside the body.
Functions :
 The main primary function of the testis are to produce
sperm(spermatogenesis).
 Produce androgens and primarily the testosterone.

4. Thyroid gland
Identification characters :
• Interlobular connective tissues are present.
• Epithelium is lined by follicle cells.
• Capillaries are present.

5. Location :
 It is located in front of
the neck.
Function:
 It plays a major role in the

• Maturation
 It helps to regulate body functions by constantly releasing a
steady amount of hormones into the blood stream.

6. Spinal cord
Identification characters :
• Grey and white matter can be seen.
• Anterior and posterior horns are
also present.
• Central canal is also present.

7. Location :
 It is located in the vertebral column.
Function :
 The vessels that carry oxygenated blood from the heart are
the arteries.
 These carry blood to the lungs for oxygenation.
Artery
Identification characters :
• Lumen is present.
• Tunica intima (Inner layer) can be seen easily.
• Tunica media (Middle layer) is also present.
• Tunica adventitia (Outer layer) can also be seen.

8. Locations :
 These are located in all the body.
Functions :
 Vessels carry oxygenated blood away from the heart are the
arteries

9. Stomach
Identification characters :
• Muscularis mucosa can be seen.
• Submucosa is also present.
• Muscularis externa is also
present.

10. Location :
 Muscular organ located on the left side of the upper
abdomen.
Function:
 Its main function is to break down the food.
 To digest and extract necessary nutrients from the food.

11. Location :

13. Function :

Mammary glands
Identification characteristics :
• Lobules of ducts are present.

14. Location :
 Located in the breast , situated at the chest.
Functions :
 Responsible for lactation (production of milk) to feed the young

• Collagen fibers are also present.

16. Location :
 Located in Meniscus of knees , Pubis symphysis and discs of
vertebra.
Function :

Salivary glands

17. Location :

19. Location :
