3. Exploring simple machines –Making learning fun by exploring
the key terms and concepts associated with these devices. Also
a discussion by the children on the forces at work while putting
together the project.
4. Formative Assessment : Students demonstrated their under-
standing of simple machines by making models of their choice
based on the scientific principles. While presenting the models
the children developed research and communication skills.
5. Children reflected on their understanding of Newton’s
laws of motion. They spoke about the theories of forces
discovered by Newton and the science behind the three
laws.

6. Summative Assessment - Students worked in groups where they
chose and designed a piece of land incorporating the concepts
from unit of inquiry. After doing this they got a clear idea about
the implications and impacts of simple machines at different
places.
7. Presentation of summative assessment - Through this task the
students showcased self—management and thinking skills to
demonstrate their understanding of the unit. They were assessed on
clarity of thought, creativity, presentation, vocabulary and innovation.
8. Inquiry in English - Fabricating the learning in an interactive way
- Collaboratively the children expressed their understanding of
the unit by adding adverbs in their sentences.

learning was assuming a character from the stories of their
choice and enacting it by using sentences with adverbs.
10. Role playing is learning through play. Children developed social
skills in the formal setting of a classroom wherein they used
their own imagination and responsibly directed their
understanding of adverbs in a holistic way
11. Inquiry in Math - Revisiting of multiplication and measuring (telling
time) as children worked individually and collaboratively in drawing
clocks and telling the time. Also they learnt the different shapes by
watching a video and collecting different shapes and making a collage.
12. Inquiry in ICT - Drawing simple machines by using
shapes in MS word and recap of picture formatting
in MS word.
