Creating Our Friday - Newsletter 3

Agency enables people to play a part in their self-development,
adaptation and self-renewal with changing times.
PYP students with agency use their own initiative and will, and take
responsibility and ownership of their learning. They direct their learning
with a strong sense of identity and self-belief, and in conjunction with
others, thereby building a sense of community and awareness of the
opinions, values and needs of others.
At AGS, ‘Creating our Friday’ is a student initiative to take ownership as
learners. The students gave this name to the day wherein, students
showcase personal interests and share these interests with peers.
Third session of Creating our Friday was held on 29th November, 2019.
Sessions were craft with recycled material, Story using paper puppets,
gymnastics, reading for pleasure and playing cricket for fitness.
Students took initiative, expressed interest and wonderings and made
choices towards presenting and learning.
The highlight was the understanding and respect that PYP learners
demonstrated towards each other, demonstrating the IB learner profile
in their actions.
