 Implement GM – Global Manufacturing Systemwith special focus on Built-
in–Quality requirements related to Powertrain best practices
 Achieve Flawless Launch for new Engine programs including Diesel

SAIC GM Wuling Automobiles Company Limited (SGMW -Engine Plant)
Location: Liuzhou, Guang Xi Province (People Republic of China)
Title: Quality Operations Manager March-2007-February’2010
Note: Worked for a JV company of General Motors in China as Quality Head in
Powertrain plant after qualifying for a three years International Assignment
from GM – India .The JV Company is a leading manufacturer of passenger and
multi utility vehicles in China . Greenfield Power train unit manufactured
Engines for own vehicle plant.
Major responsibilities during this international assignment:
i) Drive leadership behavior through candid feed-back, coach , train and
monitor new employees and develop‘customer Focussed’quality
culture in the organisation
ii) Lead the development of Powertrain Quality targets ( Pull PPM ,
Assembly PPM , First Time Quality , Incidene Per Thousand Vehicles
and Cost Per Vehicle warranty metrices ) and support the team in
achieving the internal and external quality deliverables
iii) Develop Organization capability, support to assign roles and
responsibility to all quality employees, training of all Quality employees
to be qualified employee
iv) Drive faster resolution and disciplined problem solving approach for
Quality issues by strengthening cross functional Issue Resolution Team
and CPIP ( Current Product Improvement Process )
v) Support Supplier Quality organisation in implementing the Launch

Major responsibilities during assignment from Feb’2001to Feb 2007:
o Heading the Vehicle Quality Operation team and New program team
Drive all the deliverables in terms of Safety, People, Quality,
Responsiveness and Cost
o Tracking, escalation and resolution of plant quality issues with cross
functional support
o Ensure review of all plant quality matrix in monthly Quality Review
Meeting with leadership and track action items towards closure
o Drive Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2000) within the
organization as Corporate Management Representative ; conduct QMS
internal audit and Management Review Meeting, implement and track
recommendations of external certifying agency
