Overseas Chief Quality Engineer – Compact LCV Van / Compact cars / Standardization
Responsible via a direct reporting team for a series of vehicle models and the validation of
internal and external Quality targets, including Consumer Reports and JD Powers IQS,
preparation and approval of Quality milestones allowing manufacturing to commence and
shipments to customers to occur , then following the model over life to ensure continuous
improvement.
Involvement and leadership for Quality within five (5) major phases of a vehicle project
1. Design phase – Influencing the future models based on the current market feedback
2. Quality confirmation – Dynamic and static testing to simulate a period of customer usage
in a variety of settings from a customer perspective
3. Approval for production – Providing judgment that production can start , and that after a
period of Quality hold that deliveries can take place
4. Task Force leadership – Direct leadership of a cross functional launch phase team to
gather the early voice of the customer for countermeasure action
5. Life cycle management – On going achievement of the key internal and external metrics
via constant monitoring and cross functional collaboration to develop countermeasures
Launched seven (7) completely new models from NMEX and NNA-C production
facilities with some of the best build Quality of recent launches , and recognized as
the bench mark process
As requested by VP NA <TCS> and through working closely with and reporting to
both regional and Global management teams developed my concepts of Quality into
a practical set of working practices covering the five (5) phases.
Utilizing website based technology these working practices are now deployed applied
across the full model team of managers within NNA <TCS> with the focus to provide
a consistent result in the validations and judgments made with quick action to correct
issues as they arise.
Prepared the GM OEM Quality contract wording for the M30 small van, led the
Quality relationship trust building with the GM team during early contract phase in
support of the final contract signing.
Managed the GM OEM product through it’s trial phase and prepared the regional
input to and validation of the KPI’s and PMI materials required as OCQE to propose
OK judgment at SOP-JM and DJM to the CQE for final approvals
Prepared Nissan GM OEM product concern handling process to improve handling
of the various types of product concerns that could exist to continue a trust based
relationship

• Took a lead role in the Chrysler OEM projects for [WA1E] / TRAZO /
HORNET including the contact wording development , regular executive
level meetings with the Nissan and Chrysler teams both in Japan and the
USA , financial modeling of key KPI’s and chair of the weekly face to face
