3. Flow on the Job
Cognitive Flow occurs more often on the job than during free time. For example, teaching
has clear goals, it has rules of performance, provides feedback, encourages
concentration, and seeks to prevent distractions

4. Flow at Play
Cognitive flow is intrinsic motivation, where
I do what I'm doing because I enjoy it.
Activities, such as rock climbing,
produces flow because it is
achievable, it requires problem
solving, and I am physically doing
something.
When challenges are too low, I get
back to flow by increasing them
If challenges are too great, I can
return to flow by learning new
skills.

5. Social Flow

6. Social interactions with other people are the least predictable,
and so certain social interactions require eternal demands
that can lead to flow.
The more intimate the encounters, the more level of challenges
and skills become high
Successful interactions require compatibility
between an individual's goals and those of other
person(s) and the willingness to invest attention in
the other person's goals.
