Industry Refers To that sector of economy which is related with
manufacturing and production of products.
Major Industries in Pakistan
 Textile
 Sugar
 Telecom
 Sports
 fertilizer
 Cement
 Steel mill
 Defense
Textile Industry
 Major contributor to foreign exchange, this industry export 61%
of its product.
 Pakistan 1st largest industry.
 3rd largest exporter of the world.
 8.5% Contribution to GDP.
 Scarf, winterShawal, Towels, blankets, clothes etc. are the products of
textile.
 Total exports $14.8 billion year of 2015.
 employment provide 6.2m.
 Pakistan sell clothes to developed countries like America, British,
Spain, Germany and other countries too
Sugar industry
 in 1947 there were only two sugar industries in
Pakistan
 At present 106 sugar mills are operating in Pakistan
 It is 2nd largest industry after textile
 15th rank in the world.
 Employment 1 million
 GDP contribution is 0.7%
Telecom
 Jazz, warid, zong, Ufone, Telenor, Ptcl are major
telecom companies.
 Telecommunication is transmission of information over
significance distance.
 Major categories are telephones, mobiles, internet
 Created 220,000 high paying job
 Pakistan is now leader in mobile usage in south Asia
 Contribution in GDP is 6%
Sports industry
 this is one of those industries of Pakistan that earn great
revenue each year
 In Pakistan Almost All sports related items are produced but the
famous products are soccer ball, cricket bat, cricket ball, tennis
ball and some other items too
 Soccer ball of Pakistani sports industry were used for the
FIFA(Fedération Internationale de Football Association) world
cup of the year 1994 and 2014. this shows that how demanding
the sports industry of Pakistan is in the world
 The sports industries of Pakistan lies in Sialkot which is part of
province Punjab
 Employments more than 200,000
Fertilizer industry
 Fertilizer is any organic or inorganic
products added to soil to supply plants
 Major products are Urea, DAP, Np etc.
 Contribution of Fertilizers are 14% in
GDP
 Employment are 4.7 millions
Cement industry
 Cement contribution in GDP IS 3.5%
 Exported in 2015 700 million USD
(increased 47%)
 Pakistan has Ranked 5th position in the
world exporter of cement
 Total 23 companies are in Pakistan, 4
foreign and 3 controlled by Armed forces
Pakistan defense
 Pakistan have its own made ballistic missiles.(Nasar with Range of 60 km,
Ghaznavi with range of 290-320 km, Ghauri with range of 350 km,
Shaheen-1 with range of 750 to 900km, Ghauri-2 with range of 1500-
1800km, Shaheen 2 with range of 2000km)
The Al-Khalid is a main battle tank jointly developed by Pakistan and
China during the 1990s.
Pakistan also have its own made Guns like G3A3,G3P4, POF PK etc.
Burraq is drone plane made by Pakistan. On 7 September 2015, the
Burraq was used for the first time in a live military operation.
JF-17 thunder jointly developed by Pakistan and china.
