Dear Members,
New Members Reception
The New Member’s reception on Sunday saw the bar busy with new and prospective members, who
took the opportunity to come along and meet members of the Main Committee. The sun shone and
Jacqui served up a delicious lunch. What a perfect way to enjoy the fantastic view from the club
house!
This Friday Night we will be digging out the Christmas Decorations, to pretty up the club! Why
not come and lend a hand? If you are still in the bar at 9pm, you might stand a chance of
winning the £100 draw.

VOLUNTEERS FOR JANUARY SHUTDOWN
We are planning to completely repaint the restaurant and bar area during the January shutdown as
well as the hall and loos. Thanks to those who have volunteered so far, but we would like
commitment from a few more people, especially if you are a …dab… hand with a paintbrush.
Please contact Emma or Rick Wick if you any time to spare. Volunteers will be needed both during
the week and at weekends, if we are to get a fast turn- around. Please don’t be shy about helping
out!
Ladies Who Launch
Next season the Sonata fleet will be available, on a series of Thursday mornings, to 'Ladies Who
Launch'. These sessions, for ladies of all ages, will be intended to develop boat handling and sailing
skills, and most importantly have some fun, both on and off the water. We will then aim to finish
the session in the club with a chat over a coffee or glass of wine and maybe a spot of lunch.
Over the next few weeks we will be arranging a get together to help design a schedule that will
hopefully hit the spot. Suggestions so far include; learning how to pick up a buoy, park the darn
thing, and sail a straight course! If you have any ideas for things you'd like included, or just to
register your interest, then please contact Jane Long on janehutleylong@hotmail.co.uk.
2. Racing Coach Level 2 Course
We are now working with the RYA to improve the skill set of all those who support our Cadet
Programme. As such we are looking for 6 volunteers to participate in a 2-3 day intensive course at
the beginning of next season. The aim being to further improve our ability to teach those learning to
sail dinghies, both on Saturday Mornings and in Cadet Activity Week. If you would like to apply to
participate in the fantastic opportunity please contact Emma for more details.
