10. CONCLUSION
Preliminary analysis of interviews with senior leaders in the
Higher Education sector in South Africa suggests:
● that there are multiple responses to emergent forms of
provision, shaped both by global trends and local
catalysts
● New forms of provision could widen access to higher
education.
● They are also seen as a potential revenue stream for
public universities in the context of austerity.
