 In Last three months, almost error count from Misinterpretation category nearly equal compared to other top error
categories namely Edits not carried out/ Design Instruction/Typos
 Designers are getting difficult in identifying/understanding instructions.
 Focusing on Customer/2adpro which had continuous increase where we need to find whether it’s a miss out from
Customer/Sales Rep instruction given.

Observation:
1. On further bifurcation, we see top error category “Edits not carried out” to be in top most except February month.
2. Also, Design Instruction and Misinterpretation error count to equal for past three months.
3. Out of these four category, except Misinterpretation category other three error categories comes under SLA

STAGE 1
•Bifurcate skill and will based population, for this we are adding an additional column named
“GANNETT-Print Misinterpretation type” in our Revision Analysis Report.
STAGE 2
•Identify where most of the people falls and segregate them week wise and communicate to
team to be in caution.
•NOTE: In upcoming slides segregation done month wise
STAGE 3
•Will based errors can be again bifurcated in terms of type of shipping and miss out from QC
immediately taken care by Leads/CSE.
STAGE 4
•Skill based errors can be again bifurcated in terms of communication and copy. 5 Why’s
session will be done.
STAGE 5

2. Though maximum orders crosses estimated time level still error continued.
3. Levels in between 2-5 are of 50% of the total error contribution

2. Delay in shipping occurred despite it crossed estimated time.
3. In three Quality Check jobs, two jobs was done by same QC person .

Classification of Misinterpretation type in Jan’20:
Observation:
1. We see that, January month had maximum number of errors, been a rush/peak period, we got 28 defects in this Misinterpretation error
category
2. Out of 28, we segregated 17 as Skill based type; on further classification “communication” prone to be the maximum in numbers.
3. Also, in skill based sub type, jobs from “extra copy added” classification has a similar pattern either designer retaining old copy from
existing InDesign file submitted or entering extra letter/symbol/word from keyboard used.

Observation:
1. Maximum are from New orders.
2. Also, levels from 2 to 5 all went without QC which contributes 52% of total 19 errors.
3. This month(Feb’20) has a highest number of contribution errors, from the ownership as “Customer/2adpro”. This should
be conveyed to customer/client of Gannett about miss out occurred.

2. There are 7 errors occurred due to communication gap from Sales Rep.
3. Also, designers have understood/misinterpreted the customer given instructions which leads 6 errors for this month.

 On daily basis, Gannett Print Misinterpretation type would be segregated and shared to Leads/CSE.

 Skill Based type-
 Error screenshots from Misinterpretation category will be shared for designers/QC.
 5 Whys? For designers/QC will be done on-spot in the floor in guidance with Leads.
 Announce other team members to be in caution.
 Would suggest to run a SOP assessment for designers.

Also, Design Instruction and Misinterpretation error count to equal for past three months. 3. STAGE 2 •Identify where most of the people falls and segregate them week wise and communicate to team to be in caution. •NOTE: In upcoming slides segregation done month wise STAGE 3 •Will based errors can be again bifurcated in terms of type of shipping and miss out from QC immediately taken care by Leads/CSE. We see that, January month had maximum number of errors, been a rush/peak period, we got 28 defects in this Misinterpretation error category 2. Out of 28, we segregated 17 as Skill based type; on further classification “communication” prone to be the maximum in numbers. 3. Also, in skill based sub type, jobs from “extra copy added” classification has a similar pattern either designer retaining old copy from existing InDesign file submitted or entering extra letter/symbol/word from keyboard used. Also, levels from 2 to 5 all went without QC which contributes 52% of total 19 errors. 3. This month(Feb’20) has a highest number of contribution errors, from the ownership as “Customer/2adpro”. This should be conveyed to customer/client of Gannett about miss out occurred.
