Our workplace is closer to being a digital thing than a
building. Virtual attendance, or virts are quite
common, and are differentiated from physical
attendance or prezing. Prezing may be at any of our
intellified offices, or at a meeting point in the city.
At offices and factories, wearables guide and learn at
the same time.

The changes are just not in technology, but cultural. Our
company is flatter. Managers are younger, they were 25 when
we wrote our vision-mission. Emps don’t like meetings where
they make notes and respond in stored time, they prefer to
act in real time. If they can respond from the place where the
issue is, so much the better!
Quick iterative work will be the preferred way. Outcomes
matter, effort less so; credit is diffused. Status is temporary
and depends on your last achievement. Seniority is less
important, experience too. The company car, who wants it?

All employee activity, whether meetings,
work or usage of facilities becomes data. The
mood of virts and presencers is sensed. Line
managers know how many meetings were
scheduled and how satisfied emps were with
each.
A wet toilet can get a thumbs down on a
social platform through a wearable and
housekeeping will act. But HR knows too.
Because data silos will merge. It will all be
People data!

By 2018, it was clear that companies that digitized
operations would grow at greater rates.
Merging this data with what we used to think of as
HR data is the logical think to do. But the big thing is,
that the data isn’t controlled or restricted, all emps
can see it.
