Lead Designer – Men’s Wear, Bonita, ChenOne Women, & Kids: (April 2000 – April 2006), April 2014 to
Present
I first served ChenOne in 2000, when I joined them as Fashion Designer for Men’s wear department. In
a matter of few months I successfully achieved all KPI’s which were part of my JD and got promoted to
Head of Men’s, Women & Kid’s Wear within the same year.
Details of my second and current association with ChenOne are listed below:
 Creating/visualizing an idea and producing a design by hand or using computer-aided design
plus Planning and developing ranges.
 Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics,
colors and shapes.
 Working with others in the design team, such as buyers and forecasters, to develop products to
meet a brief
 Liaising closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure the item
suits the customer, market and price points
 Understanding design from a technical perspective, i.e. producing patterns, toiles and technical
specifications for designs
 Sourcing, selecting and buying fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments. Adapting existing
designs for mass production.
 Developing a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervising the making up
of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations
 Defining the exact specs for the procurement of the fabrics (woven, knitted micro, woolen, leather,
denim, linen, etc.) trimmings and accessories from the local as well as foreign sources.
 Frequent visits to Hong Kong, Thailand and China to participate in the international trade fairs,
interact directly with fabric and other products manufacturers (Garment and Home Textile
Departments).
