It is the study of designing,
manufacturing, using & disposing the
computing devices in such a way that
it consumes less energy & it is safe for
the environment.

8. • In 1992, The U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and Department of
Energy launched “Energy Star”
labelling.
• Computing devices which
consumes 20-30% less
electricity than normal devices
to do same work were labelled
with Energy Star.

9. In 2001, Indian agency Bureau of
Energy Efficiency developed program
to efficient use of energy.
The more number of stars the
more energy efficient the device
is.

24. • Concerning speed and price, we are dealing
with the normal PCs which results into high
consumption of energy and cause to
increase in pollution.
• If Green computers are able to gain the
speed near about to the normal PCs and if
they are available then we must use these
PCs to save the ENVIRONMENT.
