This document discusses the ENLITEN project which aims to reduce carbon emissions from household energy use through the development of an intelligent home energy advisor. The advisor will use low-cost sensors and dynamic building energy modeling, combined with an understanding of occupant behavior, to provide customized prompts to households about how to save energy. The goal is to help occupants of highly efficient passive houses realize full energy savings potential by tailoring feedback based on each household's actual energy usage patterns and habits.
