Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, was assassinated on December 27, 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She was killed in a suicide bomb and gunfire attack after giving a political speech. The investigation faced obstacles due to the crime scene being washed immediately and no autopsy being performed. While a militant group claimed responsibility, the investigation suggested involvement of intelligence agencies and politicians in her killing. Over a decade later, many questions remain about who ordered her assassination.

2. "The Daughter of The EAST"

3. Benazir Bhutto (21 June 1953 – 27
December 2007) was from Pakistan.
She was twice the Prime Minister of
the country.
First Lady to be the PM of a Muslim
State.
Daughter of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and
Wife of Asif Ali Zardari.
She had 1 son and 2 daughters.

4. She was in self exile during the era of Military Dictator Gen
Pervaiz Musharaf who took over the country in october
1999.
After 8 years of self exile, in 2007, Benazir Bhutto decided
to come back to Pakistan for contesting 2008 General
elections.
She decided her returning date to Pakistan and that was 18
October 2007.
Benazir at that time wanted a very warm welcome from the
supporters.

5. On the very day, Benazir Bhutto's convoy was attacked but she
fortunately survived the attack due to Bullet Proof Truck. 139
casualities.

6. After the attack, Benazir requested for full proof
security but was not prvided by then Interior
Minister.

7. THE DAY :
On December 27,
Benazir was to
address a public
gathering for her
election compaign at
LIAQAT BAGH,
RAWALPINDI.
Before that, she met
DG(ISI) Gen Nadeem
Taj And Afghan
President Hamid
Karzai.

8. At 2 pm, she left for Liaqat Bagh.
After addressing a huge gathering there,
everything seemed to be perfect but at the very
moment something very disastrous happened.

9. As she left the liaqat bagh, she selected one of her 2 Land cruisors for the ride
back to Zardari House.
Her convoy was surrounded by the mob as to show love and affection for their
leader.
Suddenly there was a devastating Sound and everything just changed near
LIAQAT BAGH.
That was a BOMB BLAST. A SUICIDE BLAST

10. Following the incident, an unconscious Bhutto was taken to
the Rawalpindi General Hospital at 5:35 pm local time,
where doctors led by Rawalpindi Medical College Principal
Mohammad Musaddiq Khan tried to resuscitate her,
performing a "left anterolateral thoracotomy" for open
cardiac massage".
Sadiq Khan, Mussadiq Khan's father, had tried to save
Liaquat Ali Khan when he was assassinated in the same
park and rushed to the same hospital in 1951.
Although Pakistan Peoples Party spokesman Farhatullah
Babar initially said that Bhutto was safe, she was declared
dead at 6:16 pm local time

11. The City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Saud
Aziz was handling the case.
Despite of the insisting of Doctors again and again,
CPO didn't let them permission for the
postmortem.
He stated that
"How can i direct you for the postmortem unless
the case is not filled back in the police station for
Benazir's death"

12. The negligence of the police didn't stop here.
Soon after the declaration of the death, CPO
ordered the washing of accident site with
immediate effect. According to him, the road was
very busy and city police can't manage that.

13. Government at that time, was trying to portrate the
assassination of BB as an accident despite a
suicide attack.
According to them, due to the sudden pressure
created by bomb explosion, BB's head was forced
towards lever of the car's sunroof that caused her
death.

14. The Dilemma was that the nation was not
trying to know who was killer but instead of
that trying to know the cause of death for
several weeks.

15. Now, it was a challenge for any investigation
team to investigate about the assassination
as:
* No AUTOPSY
* Site of the accident was washed right
away after the death

16. However, an investigation team was formed and was
commonly known as "JIT"
They started to investigate the case by help of every
possible evidence that was left.
Besides this, Government seeked help from the United
Nation Investigation Team and the Scotland Yard
The country's main Intelligence agency ISI was also
involved in the investigation confidentially.

17. "The UN Investigation Team"

18. Investigation Team found out that it was unclear whether
the death was from lever of car or by other means.
So to findout the exact cause, they took help from the
videos and the cctv cameras etc.
They concluded something. The death was not due to the
lever. Besides the suicide attack, there were 3 gunshots
fired from which the 2nd one targeted Benazir's head.
Due to the velocity of fire, Benazir's head was forced to
move towards the lever of car's sunroof.

19. After this fact, a shocking CT Scan of Benazir's head was
leaked from Hospital authorities which sums it all.

20. Forensic Experts were in a view that the
gunshot was fired from a 30 bore pistol.
Velocity of which is 1km per sec and was
fired from a range of 5 to 8 Feet

22. The bullet that killed Benazir Bhutto hasn't
been found till date.
All these facts suggested that there was
someone who was not feeling comfortable
for the pure investigation and thats why
facts were either vanishing or scrambled.

23. It is worth mentioning
here that after the
Assassination, a few
days later, video tape of
BAITULLAH MEHSUD
was leaked in which he
claimed that the
responsibility of Benazir's
death is on TTP. But
WHY???

24. "Some Important Revealings by JIT
and other Investigations"
• The then Chief Security Officer of BB, Rehman Malik
was saying till 6 pm that BB hasn't been harmed and will
get well soon.
• While the Information Secretory of BB, Dr.Babar Awan
keep on saying that BB has been hit by Lever and is in
critical condition. Afterwards BB's death announcement
was also made by Babar Awan.
Was there any Communication Gap between the 2
important members or there was something else?

25.  Before coming back to Pakistan, Benazir
Bhutto wrote a letter to Pervez Musharaf
about the security threats and named 4
persons from whom BB had a serious
concern.
The letter has not been publicized yet.
WHY??

26. "Astonishing Facts about the
Investigation"
• The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) public prosecutor
"CH ZULFIQAR" was brutally killed when he was going
to the hearing of Benazir's case.
• It was quite astonishing because 2 days before his
murder he made a statement :
"I am not like other cowards. I will not let it go until the real
murderers of BB are not hanged. I have enough
evidences to present it in court who is behind this"

Had connections with Intelligence agencies,
Osama bin Laden and BRIGADIER IJAZ SHAH
Was provided 2 men by Baitullah Mehsood,
named BILAL BADAR and IKRAMULLAH
Conversation between Qari Saif and BaitUllah
was revealed by Intelligence Agencies.

34. Role of Gen. Pervez Musharaf:
• Under trial now a days due to reasons like
1. Security lapse inspite of BB letter and Karachi attack
2. Orders to CPO Saud Aziz for washing accident site and a blame for
carrying out no autopsy
Musharaf wrote a letter to Benazir in which he stated
''You should understand something, your
security is based on the state of our
relationship. I would only be able to
protect you if you will be nice to me''

• Didn't allowed autopsy
• Is in great power after her assassination
• Was not able to find fact and figures about
the death inspite of 5 years own
government

• If Benazir would have stayed inside her
bulletproof car, the scenario might have been
different today.
• If accident site were not washed and Autopsy
performed, it could have helped a lot in
investigation
• Someone is there in the whole case which has a
direct link to the assassination even though by
the help of TTP.
