Dear Sir or Madam,
I have recently come across the job for a Dresser that you are looking for at your upcoming
show taking place at Arley Hall. I think I am the right person for the job.
I was personally looking for a job in the production and theatre industry as I hope to pursue
that career in the future. I am extremely enthusiastic about production and theatre as I find
it very enjoyable and interesting when taking part. I have experience in working in the
production and theatre industry as I am currently a Production Arts student at Priestly
College.
Furthermore, this job would not be my first job as I currently have a job at Ron Spencer
Cycles. This job takes a lot of time and effort as there is a large amount to learn. So
therefore, I have experience in having a job and how much time and dedication it needs.
As I am a Dresser and I will be putting the right costumes onto the performers, I will need to
know the script of the performance in order to put the right costume onto the performer. I
also know that if there is a problem with the costume, for example, if the costume is too big,
I will know to make it fit the performer by inserting a pin. And as your job advertisement
enquires a person who has skills in being dresser, I would take the time to learn more skills
than I already have on being a dresser.
In addition to this, as a class, we have currently taken part in Priestly College’s winter
showcase. This took place for three nights and I was chosen to be the roles of Front of
House and crew. With this, I had to communicate with the audience a lot of the time as I
had to sell tickets and give out refreshments.
Also, I have experience in being a Dresser too. During the winter showcase I was asked to
help the performers with their quick changes backstage in order for them to get onto the
stage when they were supposed to. The performers personally told the runners that I was a
big help in particular. This shows that I am dedicated and that I do not slack or take my job
for granted.
2. Overall, I think I would be the right person for this job as a dresser. This industry is what I
want to be involved in, in future so I am going to take this job very seriously. I hope you take
my experience and my dreams into account because I truly believe I am right for this job
Yours sincerely
