The puff isredwith white textbringingattentiontoit and makingthe texteasyto read. All of the textis capitalisedonthe coverand isalso mainlybold.This makesiteasyto readand keeps the cover simple and more minimal fittingwiththe style of the indie- rock genre.The textof the cover linesand mastheadare all redas thisisthe mostimportant information and the red colouris keptacross the entire magazine. The barcode andedition are keptinthe lowerleft handcorner and are very small anddo not feature any red.Thisis to avoid takingawayfrom the more important information.The costis redas thisisimportantto show the magazine isnot too expensiveto interest the audience. The main image will feature a man playingguitarina denimjacketto,help fitthe genre.The image isthe largest part of the magazine coverand isonly slightlyobscuredby the cover lines.The mainimage is importantsoyour eyesare drawnto it and thenyounext see the coverlines whichslightly obscure the image but donot distract too much. The editor’snote featureson the bottomright handcorner in a box made to looklike lined paper.Here I will use afont to make the writinglookhand written. Thiswill give the magazine a more personal touch showingthatitiswritten by a real person. The title alongthe top islarge and bold to make it clearthat thisisthe contents page.Againmostof the fontis capitalisedtoshow itsimportance. There are black bordersand linesto make the imagesand titlesstrandoutmore. Thiswill draw attentionfromthe audience.The listings of articlesare inblack and will notbe capitalised. Two images are featured on the contents page referringto different articles.This will feature a drummerand singerto make it differentto the cover images. There will alsobe a quote fromthe double page spreadtoshowits importance. Thiswill alsohelpto showan interestingpartof the article.
- 3. Double page spread The main image onthe lefthandpage will feature the two membersof the band playingtheir instruments.The title is featuredonthe top left inboldred font. There is alsoa quote overthe mainimage to also indicate whatthe article will be about.Acrossthe draftsthe colourscheme has stayedthe same. The captionis featured inthe bottomleftcorner and isout of the way,as to not distract.Both modelswill be whiteand wearingordinaryclothes fittingwith the indie- rock genre.Ittakesup the majorityof the left page. One memberwill weara denimjacket. The right page featuresaclose up of the twoof them separatelyfitting withthat Beatles/ Blurpicture look, somethingthatfans of the genre will recognise. Tothe leftof the images will be a small introductiontothe article to make it clearwhat the article will be about. There isanotherquote breaking up the sectionswiththickblack lines,thiscreatesamore minimalistdesign.Thisadds some interesttothe blocksof textseparatingthemand makingitclearerto read. Here is the article featuringanew interview withthe band exclusive tothe magazine abouttheirplansfor the New Year. Here there isthe albumartwork withan albumreview.Thiswill be boxedoutto show thisisa different section. Overall the magazine will be made tolooka bitolderas to notcome acrossas tryingto be cool or relevant.There are fewcolours astokeepa more stylishdesignandnotbe too distractingfromthe actual contentand photos.The colourswill notbe too over the top as the genre featuresmore subtle colours.
