3. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease
caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.
Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that
cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans,
coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that can
range from mild to lethal
.
Human coronaviruses were discovered in the 1960s. The earliest ones studied
were from human patients with the common cold. Most of these have involved
serious respiratory tract infections. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new
strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in
humans.
4. PAKISTAN
The number of confirmed cases in
the country is over 6,000+, with
1,500+ recoveries and 100+ deaths.
Punjab is currently the region with
highest number of cases at over
2,600. Multiple regions across the
country have imposed lockdowns
until mid to late April to stem the
outbreak

confirmed cases of coronavirus
in 185 countries and at least
114,000 people have died.
The United States now has
about three times as many
confirmed cases as any other
country.
PRESENT SITUATION
5. Reported illnesses have ranged from mild symptoms to severe illness and death for confirmed
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases. These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after
exposure.
Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung
disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from
COVID-19 illness.
Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath are the main symptoms of (COVID-19).
Trouble breathing, pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or
face are severe case Symptoms.

6. Incubation Period
The “incubation period” means the
time between catching the virus and
beginning to have symptoms of the
disease. Most estimates of the
incubation period for COVID-19
range from 1-14 days, most
commonly around five days. These
estimates will be updated as more
data become available
7. Prevention
Social Distancing
Social distancing, also called “physical distancing,” means
keeping space between yourself and other people outside of
your home.
To practice social or physical distancing:
• Stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people
• Do not gather in groups
• Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings
8. Clean your hands often:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least
20 seconds especially after you have been in a public
place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or
sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand
sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover
all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until
they feel dry.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with
unwashed hands.
Prevention
9. o Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when
around others
o You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do not feel
sick.
o Everyone should wear a cloth face cover when they have to
go out in public, for example to the grocery store or to pick up
other necessities.
o Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children
under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is
unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the
mask without assistance.
o The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case
you are infected.
o Do NOT use a facemask meant for a healthcare worker.
o Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others.
The cloth face cover is not a substitute for social distancing.
Prevention

better to call an ambulance.

Emergency
Stay at home if you feel unwell.
If you have a fever, cough and
difficulty breathing, seek
medical attention and call in
advance. Follow the directions
of your local health authority.
11. Cure
There is no specific medicine to prevent or treat coronavirus disease (COVID-
19). If you have mild symptoms. You can relieve your symptoms if you:
rest and sleep
keep warm
drink plenty of liquids
use a room humidifier or take a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and
cough

Herd Immunity
Convalescent Plasma Transfer Therapy
There is no FAO approved specific treat till now.
13. Last 15 days
In the last 15 days the rate of
cases and deaths have
increased very much.
April
This month is not yet ended. The
number of cases till mid of April
are 6000+ and more than 100
people died.
March
Till the end of March 2040
cases were confirm. Almost
26 deaths re confirmed.
February
COVID-19 reached Pakistan.
At the end of the month 4
cases were confirmed.
