much influential. The factors that have been given focus by the

claims that an influential leadership outs into consideration the
fact that the family friends plays a very crucial role in the
success of the leadership. For a leader to be influential, he or
she must be able to put influence on the friends and the
families. These are the people who know the leader better.
When leaders are not able to win the trust of the mentioned
groups, it is hard to be believed by any other person. It is,
10. therefore, important to note that, competency in leadership
comes with social controls and the support from them. This is
an important factor of influential leadership.

00005
Murray et al. write about the influential profession and how
they can make their work possible. The authors who have
written more than 100 articles on leadership are given the first
ingredient of influential leaderships as the leader’s moods.
Using the different professions as examples, the reason for
having the influence is because there is a need to use the
different moods by the leaders to influence results. Again the
authors have picked up nursing executive as the profession
where the leaders have a lot of influence for them to win the
trust of the employees and the people they are attending to. It
11. identifies the fact that negative and positive mood as the
effective tone to which leaders can manage to have the support

Journal of Applied Psychology 90 (2): 295–305. doi:
10.1037/0021-9010.90.2.295. PMID15769239
A leader needs not only abilities but also an attitude, tone and
mood. The authors of this article memorably do a piece to show
how the relationship between a leader and the subordinates can
bring change. The leaders can only manage to influence change
in their work when they can manipulate their moods, attitudes
12. and tones. When the three factors are well handled, the
subordinates may feel short changed as the subordinates work in
the best of the relations by the leadership. The authors,
therefore, advice the leaders that that their attitudes and moods
can bring change if they are used well.

outcomes." Personnel Psychology52 (4): 899–926. Doi:
10.1111/j.1744-6570.1999.tb00184.x
The study by the authors had the focus on the importance of
personality attributes and cognitive ability as part of the factors
for influential leadership. It is one of the areas where every
leader focuses on to make that their performance achieves the
best it can. Cognitive abilities give the leaders the abilities to
make sure they have a strong association with the workers. With
cognitive abilities, the leaders can easily influence since they
understand the problem the workers have. It is therefore very
important for leaders to note that with influential leadership, the
authors made some things very clear. These are;
conscientiousness, extraversion, and emotional stability. Any
team leader can influence when they can put into practice the
above-stated functions of leaders. A good leader can bring
change by understanding the subordinates.

following, secondly on the relationship between the leaders and
13. the followers and lastly, the organizational structures that

agenda the authors had was to reduce the gap that exists
between the leaders and the followers and thereby make

motivation that the leaders to out of people whom they are
working together when it comes to the issue of self-efficacy and
the growth of business. The author also advises that there is a
need to have an empirical analysis of the workers and,
therefore, be able to make a prediction about the expectation of
