2. Under the auspices of the European Union , insitutions have been
established to promote Community Economy and Enterprise .
Specifically the EU has proposed three regulative plans:
• Τhe European Cooperative Society (SCE)
(the Greek proposal is based on this plan)
• Τhe European Non-profit Regional Society (AE)
• Τhe European Mutual Society (ME)

3. Since 2003 regulations have been set for the European Cooperative
Society ,aiming at cooperation among societies throughout Europe
(R.1435/2003,L.207/18.8.2003)
The European Cooperative Society aims to facilitate inter-state
cooperation and develop entrepreneurship on a European scale.

4. Directives
• Every member profits from their activities in proportion to their
participation. Non-members can participate provided this is
foreseen by the statute
• The members are consumers , workers or suppliers or participate in
the activities in another way.
• Control is justly shared between the members . It is also possible to
have weighted votes related to each member's contribution.
• The distribution of profits is in accordance with SCE activities.
• Acquiring membership status is without artificial boundaries.
• The altruistic principle of distribution stands.
• The cooperative principles are maintained, such as democratic
organisation <<one person one vote>>,control and distribution of net
profit on an equitable basis.
5. On the basis of these regulations the Greek proposal follows the
directions of the European Cooperative Society and differs only in
terms of subsequent recommendations in national legislation.
