3. This is a comparison of
the magazine advert
with a change in the
bottom section. My first
draft of the advert was
very crowded which
didn’t really fit the
conventions of usual
magazine adverts which
are much simpler. For
this I was advised to
move the reviews from
the top of the poster to
the bottom to allow
more space at the top.
The reviews when at the
bottom didn’t go well
over the image of the
hands so I got rid of the
image allowing the
reviews to be on their
own.
4. This is my current design of the magazine advert. The main thing
that has taken me from my first draft to this point is simplicity.
Making my advert less busy and having clear and specific
information.
I have gotten rid of the black lines around the font at the top I
think this looks much better as it’s much clearer and looks more
professional. I have also made the band name bigger so it stands
out more.
I have also added a release date which is very important on a
magazine advert. I have made it yellow as I think this makes it
stand out so that when people look at it the date is something
they are drawn to. It also matches the yellow in the picture which I
feel is aesthetically effective.
I have also manipulated the image to make the colouring more
professional looking and I have made sure that their heads are
centred as this works well for the image because of the
symmetrical way they are positioned. I think this causes the
audience to be drawn to the image in the centre.
I have centred the information at the bottom of the image. This
looks better as it improves the composition of the advert as a
whole.
I was also advised to move the institutional information on the
bottom, which I did so that it was more horizontal and I think this
looks much better than it did before .
