In most horror film openings and throughout
this genre of film light background orchestral
music will be used it will usually be done with
string instruments and usually with a slow
tempo. This is used to create a sense of
suspense for the audience. We also sometimes
hear some electric music but again this would
be very slow and also use a lot of base and
possibly sound effects.

3. colours
In nearly all horror films majority of the film will
use very dark lighting and colours in the opening
and throughout also most of the scares will
happen at night or in the dark. This is done to
make the audience fear what they cannot see
and believe that at any moment something
could burst out at them.

4. Opening title.
I included this because in alot of horror film
titles we see that the opening is often a series of
short clips or images this is different to other
genres that would usually follow an introduction
to the characters life or an action sequence not
that these are not used its just a general trait of
the horror genre.

5. Conclusion
In conclusion when making my own film
opening I will be using such characteristics like
the darkened colours and the slow orchestral
music to create the horror genre vibe. I will also
maybes use a montage at the beginning or
something similar like some old film clips. This
will give my title sequence a more chilling effect
and create the suspense I want.
