This paper investigates the usability of different user interface styles (GUI and CLI) in learning graphical software applications, specifically examining Adobe Flash CS4 and Microsoft Expression Blend 4. The study, involving 32 participants, found that while both applications had high effectiveness scores, Microsoft Expression Blend 4 outperformed Adobe Flash CS4 in terms of efficiency, errors, and user satisfaction. The findings highlight the importance of user interface design in enhancing the learning experience for interface designers and software developers.
