2. Film #1: Shaun of the dead
What have I learnt from
this film.
• The main protagonist
seems as if he would not
be good in the situation
he is put in but
somehow makes things
work.
• The settings are in rural
areas or towns.
• Costume and make up
can be badly done for
comedic effect.
• There is a poor love
story to attract a wider
audience.
"Its not the end of the world" as the zombie comes
to the window.
Protagonists use unconventional weapons to kill
zombies.

3. Film #2: Scary movie
What I learnt from this
film.
• That doing mick-takes
of films is a good way to
bring comedy to the
horror genre.
• The main characters are
normally seen as weak
or naive.
The girls body is unrealistically thrown into
the air for comedic effect.
The antagonist is acting stupid and the
protagonist has not done anything or acted
scared.

4. Film #3: Scream
What I have learnt from
this film.
• There is a poor love
story.
• The main protagonist
are a group of teens.
• One of the girls in the
group usually dies first
as they are seen as
weak.
The sex scene shows that there is a love story.
The killer is inexperienced at killing and not well
equipped.

The things I learnt
from this film are
• Rural areas are
common in comedy
horror.
• Special effects can
be key to make
certain films.
• Props are well
made and look
good for the time
period.
Props were used instead of cgi at the time of the film.
Special effects are used to show the beams.

6. Film #5: A haunted house
Things I have
learnt are
• The main
characters are
usually young
adults or teens.
• If there is
possession of
some kind the is
a priest or witch
like female.
• Usually a
female is
targeted.
Shows the woman being the target.
This shows the priest who was black to add stereotype
that a black family would get a priest from there black
church.

7. Film #6: The worlds end
Things I have learnt are
• Zombies are common
in comedy horror.
• Special effects are
key.
• The cast was well put
together and work
well together which is
why they have done
multiple films.
Special effects are used and needed to change the characters.
The use of setting makes the audience feel isolated.

8. Film #7: Gremlins
From this film I have
learnt
• That setting is very
important to change
the mood of the film.
• Camera shots are
important to making
the gremlins look
realistic.
The camera shot here is used to make them look real.
The setting shows a happy mood which contrasts the horror genre.
