Gonchi management system is very old democratic and strong one.
Gonchi is a Local Discipline water Governing Management System with well and
strong Social Regulations by the local Body.
Gonchi is good Modal for distribution of water even in modern times.
Some Gonchi Channels are breached, covered with silt and have damages at
culvert. Due to these the flow of water is very slow to reach the fields and in some
parts the water flow was stopped to meet the farmer’s lands.
So the Gonchi farmers are not getting sufficient water and number of farmer’s land is
reduced.
Gonchi has a good decision power management committee by the land owning
members and every farmer must follow the committee decision.
If any one neglects this he is punished.

15. Difficulties faced & Process followed to overcome.
Faced problems in Thirty Percent Farmer’s Contribution. We have overcome from this
with Closed Monitoring, Awareness meetings; Awareness Programmes and Close
interact with the farmers.
Converted NREGS Works in Gonchi Channels. We have overcome from this problem
as Taken the all farmers of Gonchi to the MPDO office and the farmers said impact
about the Gonchi Channels if these are developed.
Materiel Cost Variation between the Works Proposed Time and Work Beginning Time.
We have overcome from this variation as farmers have contributed the Variation
Amount.
16. Leveraging for DBI
There are scopes to develop the Gonchies under catchment areas of Chitravathi and
Hagari rivers.
