Student Police Cadet project - an overview

8. Present Status
As of January 2012, the SPC project is operational in
127 high schools/higher secondary schools
across Kerala, with 11176 students, both boys and
girls, enrolled as Cadets and 254 teachers trained as
school-level Community Police Officers (CPOs).
9. IMPLEMENTING AGENCY
The SPC Project is Implemented jointly by the
Departments of Home and Education, with
support from Departments of Local Self
Government, Transport, Excise and Forest.

11. In 2011-12, amounts received for the SPC project:
• Community Policing fund: Rs. 59.80 Lakhs
• Road Safety Fund: Rs. 100 Lakhs
• BPCL: Rs. 10 Lakhs
