CURRICULAR STATEMENT 
By observation, discussion, communication and drawing the children learn about the nutrition in 
amoeba 
Terms : 
Facts : 
Content analysis 
 Microorganisms, protoplasm, pseudo podia, food 
vacuole, lysosome, nucleus, contractile vacuole, 
Endocytosis. 
 Amoebas food is micro organisms and particles 
of organic waste in the water. 
 When an amoeba comes in contract with its prey, 
the protoplasm flows over it. 
 So amoeba engulfs it in a cavity or a small 
pocket is formed in which the prey slips in. 
 It is enclosed by the pseudopodia. 
 The pocket is closed and pinched off as a cavity 
which forms the food vacuole. 
 The food vacuoles serve as a temporary stomach 
for an amoeba. 
 The surrounding protoplasm secrete digestive 
fluids. 
 It is stored in the lysosome. 
 A lysosome full of enzymes fuse with each food 
vacuole 
 The enzyme gradually digests the food. 
 Digestion is completed in 15-30 hours. 
 The soluble foods resulting from digestion 
diffuse through the membrane of the food 
vacuole in to the surrounding cytoplasm. 
 Absorption proceeds, food- vacuoles decreases in 
size, till only the indigestible matter is left in 
them. 
 The elimination of the indigestible food also 
occurs at any point on the surface of the body as

Learning out comes in the terms of specification 
there is no regular anus. 
 Amoeba absorbs food by endocytosis through 
cell membrane. 
 The sugars, glycerin and fathy acids are used as 
sources of energy. 
 Amoeba is a unicellular organism. Amoeba 
enclosed by the pseudopodia so that the pocket is 
closed and pinched off as a cavity which forms 
the food vacuole.

INNOVATIVE LESSON TEMPLATES Name of the Teacher : Aneeja.S.Das Date: Name of the School : Class: IX Name of the Subject : Biology Division: Name of the Unit : The chemical change of food Strength: Name of the Topic : Nutrition in amoeba Duration: 45’ CURRICULAR STATEMENT By observation, discussion, communication and drawing the children learn about the nutrition in amoeba Terms : Facts : Content analysis  Microorganisms, protoplasm, pseudo podia, food vacuole, lysosome, nucleus, contractile vacuole, Endocytosis.  Amoebas food is micro organisms and particles of organic waste in the water.  When an amoeba comes in contract with its prey, the protoplasm flows over it.  So amoeba engulfs it in a cavity or a small pocket is formed in which the prey slips in.  It is enclosed by the pseudopodia.  The pocket is closed and pinched off as a cavity which forms the food vacuole.  The food vacuoles serve as a temporary stomach for an amoeba.  The surrounding protoplasm secrete digestive fluids.  It is stored in the lysosome.  A lysosome full of enzymes fuse with each food vacuole  The enzyme gradually digests the food.  Digestion is completed in 15-30 hours.  The soluble foods resulting from digestion diffuse through the membrane of the food vacuole in to the surrounding cytoplasm.  Absorption proceeds, food- vacuoles decreases in size, till only the indigestible matter is left in them.  The elimination of the indigestible food also occurs at any point on the surface of the body as
