Police Shootings And Police Brutality
The topic that has my interest would be police shooting and how much it has gotten worse over the
years. Thiers a lot of questions asked when it comes to police shootings/police brutality. The first thing
that the media always brings up is did the person deserve to be shot or was the person shooting at the
police, in which case two valid questions but the fact the cops shoot to kill it appears in many police
shooting they will usually shoot at the body of the person, they aren t likely to shoot at your legs or a
place that won t automatically cause death. The reason this is a concern is because I believe the
African American community is targeted more than any other ethnic group in America, they are more
searched than any other ethnic group it causes fear with the community and this also makes the police
job harder, because now they will be more trigger happy to shoot someone in a slight move they make.
A big media case from last year was shown an African American man helping his patience that left his
care, while this was going on the man was laying down with his hands up telling the cops I am just
trying to help my patience within 2 minutes the policeman shoots at the unarmed man injuring him,
but lucky the man survived. The strange part of this shooting was that the police was 20 foot from the
man that they shot, which also makes you wonder how is it possible that a man can have his arm
raised clearly a video of the incident showing the man with his hands up still was

Charles Cornwallis Essay
The Beginning
On December 31, 1738, Charles Cornwallis was born the second Earl Cornwallis, since
his father, the fifth Baron Cornwallis, had been rewarded as a Viscount and the first Earl
Cornwallis. In 1661, Sir Frederick Cornwallis was rewarded a baron try by Charles II for
service to the Stuarts. His mother was the niece of Sir Robert Walpole. His uncle became
he Archbishop of Canterbury. Cornwallis was educated at Eton and moved in elite social
circles.
In 1756, about a month before his eighteenth birthday, Cornwallis purchased an ensign s
commission in the Grenadier Guards and then took the extraordinary measure of
attending a military school in Turin, Italy to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1770, he became a member of the
King s Privy Council. In 1771, he became Constable of the Tower of London. In 1775, he was
promoted to Major General, which continued to show that King George III trusted in his abilities
even though Cornwallis opposed the King s policies against the American colonies.
War Times
In the fall of 1775, the British began to assemble in the southern colonies. Now
Major General Charles Cornwallis, he was ordered to sail 7 regiments with 2 companies of
artillery from Cork. Cornwallis had easily advanced in the Kings services and asked for the job.
Vice Admiral Peter Parker warships were to convoy Cornwallis 2,000 troops in 30 odd
transports. They were to meet an officer appointed by Commander in Chief General Howe and
leave the men. Even though after the men left Cornwallis hands the were defeated he would get
promoted later.
Long Island August 22 29, 1776:
Now Lieutenant General Cornwallis commanded Howe s reserves along with the
Hessian led Colonel Carl von Donop. They went ahead 4.5 miles ahead to clear the woods for
Howe s main group. They stopped in Flatbrush spoiling Washington s plans to get Cornwallis to
led him to Howe. As Washington watched Cornwallis from a hill the British main body pushed
forward undetected.

The Rosewood Film s Depictions of the Rosewood Massacre
Racial tension between African Americans and whites caused an excessive amount of violence in the
city of Rosewood. Citizens of Rosewood, Florida were victims of racial violence in 1923, which lead
to eight documented deaths in the city. The city of Rosewood took a turn for the worst on January 1,
1923 when Frances Fannie Taylor claimed that she was assaulted by an African American man who
enter her home without invitation. Many of the African American families that became involved knew
that Mrs. Taylor was not telling the truth. Fannie lied to the people of Rosewood to fabricate the truth
of her having an affair with another man. The man that assaulted her was not an African American; it
was Fannie Taylor s lover. Because of the lie, the city of Rosewood was instantly torn into pieces. The
Rosewood massacre was not a well known historical event. To bring awareness to an important part of
African American history, John Singleton decided to create a motion picture based on the Rosewood
events. The movie displays the town that was filled with racial prejudice. It shows the many injustice
attacks on the African American community. John Singleton did an exceptional job bringing the
horrific racist events of 1923 in Rosewood, Florida to the eyes of billions. In the movie, a fictional
hero was created. His name was Mr. Mann. Mann helped save many blacks that had no idea as to what
they should do. Mann helped the surviving members of the Carrier family, the women and

Essay about Nature’s Influence on the War of 1812
Nature s Influence on the War of 1812
Mother Nature played a part in every event in history, including the War of 1812. The War of 1812
was a conflict between the United States of America and Great Britain that had been building for
many years. By the end of the war however there was no clear victor and the issues that caused the
conflict were never resolved. Nature played a crucial role in the outcome. Because of humanity s
natural strive for power, the living and fighting conditions of the soldiers, and the geographical layout
of the countries involved, nature was a driving force during the War of 1812.
Hunger and greed are a part of human nature as much, if not more than, any other emotion. The

This alliance increased the tension between the British and the Americans.
The Americans had been trying to convert the Indians to farmers so they could take over their hunting
land, and the American public was concerned that if the British supplied the Indians with weapons it
would incite dangerous riots and revolts. To make matters worse for the American the Indians were
being led by Chief Tecumseh who wished to unite all of the Indians into essentially one tribe to assist
in their fight for land. This would have most likely been successful had his brother known as The
Prophet led the Indians into battle against William Henry Harrison s army at the Battle of Tippecanoe
which led to the massacre of Indians Tecumseh had been away negotiating at the time and returned to
find his work completely undone, so he joined what little forces he had left with the British. Tecumseh
was killed at the Battle of Moraviantown on the Thames River.1
Not only were the Indians involved in the battle between the British and Americans. Also during this
time period it seemed that the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte could not keep his influence out
of any international business. In 1806 Napoleon forced the neutral trading ships going through
Europe, mainly the American ones, to choose between Britain and France. The American ships did not
appreciate this and responded with a blockade leading to the

Organizational Behaviour Case Analysis
Case Analysis: Leading Change At Simmons Problem Identification
In the case Leading Change at Simmons , the fundamental issue for Simmons Company is whether or
not it should go ahead with Eitel s proposed idea of a culture change program which would cost $7.2
million at a time where the company is encompassed in a myriad of problems and severe economic
crises . The program has had initial success but its future profitability still remains largely uncertain
due to high levels of stress and resistance to change found amongst the company s employees.
Analysis and Evaluation
Simmons is a well established, trademark producer of bed mattresses but the company s organizational
structure is not in line with its promulgated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To overcome this resistance to change, it is essential that Eitel form positive relationships with his
workers along with good support and commitment. He could do this by encouraging better
communication in the company and educating the management about his plan by communicating the
logic of his proposed changes. If the employees see the full facts and solve the misunderstandings,
resistance should subside. This can be done by allowing the employees to develop and form the plans
to introduce changes with him which would allow for enhanced participation and acceptance of the
change as the employees would have a sense of ownership in the change made which will make it
much easier for them to conform once everyone is on board for the decision. Eitel should also make
sure that all changes are fair to everyone and do not come of as being biased which could create
discrepancies among the workers.
Other than that, he should focus on activities such as intergroup development, which seeks to change
the groups attitudes, stereotypes and perceptions about each other through training sessions, which
focus on differences among occupations, departments, or divisions within an organization.

Automatic Temperature Control Fan
Abstract:
The automatic temperature control system is a very essential feature of a factory or an industry. In
most of the case the temperature plays a vital role in the process of manufacturing or the process
carried in that factory or industry.
The most common and simplest way of controlling temperature is by using a fan which is
automatically connected to a network such as it is switched on when the temperature of the
surroundings increases.
The change in temperature of the surroundings can be sensed with the help of thermistor or a sensistor.
These electronic components sense the temperature of the surroundings. When there is a change in the
temperatue tempetature then these electronic components start to conduct the electric ... Show more

From the above discussion it is concluded that for the having low output from the timer 555, the
voltage on the threshold input must exceed the control voltage or + 2/3 VCC. They also turn the
discharge transistor on. To force the output from the timer high, the voltage on the trigger input must
drop below +1/3 VCC. This also turns the discharge transistor off.
A voltage may be applied to the control input to change the levels at which the switching occurs.
When not in use, a 0.01 nano Farad capacitor should be connected between pin 5 and ground to
prevent noise coupled onto this pin from causing false triggering.
Connecting the reset (pin 4) to a logic low will place a high on the output of flip flop. The discharge
transistor will go on and the power amplifier will output a low. This condition will continue until reset
is taken high. This allows synchronization or resetting of the circuit s operation. When not in use, reset
should be tied to +VCC.

Michael Jordan As A Role Model

Bill Gates, Lebron James, Derek Jeter, and Jeff Bezos are all positive role models; but to me Michael

he practiced so much that the grass turned into dirt. Then boom he became varsity material; he earned

Pupil Rights Amendment
In our new world of technology, substance abuse, mental health, and sexual practices are being
discussed in the news, television, radio, social media and even in school. Parents cannot control what
their children are learning outside their home as well as what is being taught in school. Hence, the law
provides the rights of parents and student that governs sensitive topics that are being conducted in
school. The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) (20 U S C $ 1232h; 34 CFR Part 98) was
enacted in 1978, and applies to student surveys, instructional materials or evaluations funded by the
federal government that deal with highly sensitive issues. Under the (PPRA), Parents have the right of

another incident happened at Memorial Middle School (MMS) in Fitchburg, MA. that students were
required to complete the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) which asks explicit questions about
sexual practices, substance abuse, and mental health without their parents knowledge. As mentioned in
this article, the U.S Supreme Court has ruled that, the child is not the mere creature of the state and
that the right of parents to make decisions concerning the care, custody and control of their children
are a fundamental liberty interest protected by the U.S Constitution. This incident that was happened

as the Protection of Pupils Right Amendment law. Generally, those parents who send their children to

Bullies Definition
But teachers do not have the time to individually assist each child, as there are often many kids in the
classroom setting the kids are quite problematic for teachers. Sense of Entitlement: this may come by
an accident in my case with the upbringing of the unknown may have me feel anxious that a solution
may not come easily with feeling it at and you and me. In other words, if they is trust and making it
enjoyable as others threw it to be for a five years old. If the trust is not consent or broken and is not
very fun and exciting to me there really no means to cooperate with others. Easy Target for Bullies:
the biggest, the trickiest, and the most painful is the many children like me. we are often prey for
school bullies because they did not develop the social or street savvy needed to survive the school
environment and children are often not respected by their peers because of their infantile mannerisms.

Presidency Essay
Presidency
Although it is often said that the President of the United States holds the most powerful office in the
world, this does not mean that he is able to decide very much for himself. The American Constitution,
which was adapted in 1789, clearly states the Separation of Powers. Thus, the president makes up only
one third of the government, namely the executive branch. He is also controlled by a complex system
of checks and balances, which makes sure that he (or any of the other branches, for that matter) does
not become too powerful. We will now have a look at the different problems which may be facing a
recently elected president, and then discuss to what extent his powers are important.
The first and foremost problem is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Congress is of course often the most serious problem to a new president. It is after all the legislative
branch of government, and passes both ordinary and tax bills. Another important element worth
mentioning here, is the huge amount of lobbying which goes on in America. Private associations and
companies, that officially do not have any power, gain a lot of influence through the persuasion of
congressmen(and women) or/and senators. One example is the National Rifle Association (NRA),
which has so far succeeded in destroying any attempt to introduce gun control in America. Another
one is how the powerful insurance companies helped to kill President Clinton s welfare reform a
couple of years ago.
In the US system of checks and balances, the Supreme Court is also very powerful. They are able to
create a lot of trouble for the president if they want to, as they have the so called power of judicial
review. This means that they can declare any law or presidential act unconstitutional. The Supreme
Court Justices are appointed for life, and the president has therefore no means of controlling them,
unless they resign voluntarily or die. The balance between liberal and conservative justices here, is
therefore of course subject to a lot of interest, and the president has good reasons in maintaining a
harmonious relation to the Supreme Court.
In addition to the different branches of government, there is another aspect of

Human Development Reflection
The birth and growth of mankind are magical. During these eight weeks study, I found the huge
interest in lifespan human development. This course taught me the roots of human beings. Until now, I
realized how human was born, and I also learn a lot about human development and possible diseases
in each period. Besides, I learned the research process. They are really wonderful knowledge and
helpful to me!
The three thing I interested is research methods, the collaborative gene, and prenatal development.
First of all. I learned research methods from the video lecture. That is the first time I ve heard about a
detailed explanation of research methods. I was really interested in it because it is very important for
us. The higher education level we are, the more research we need to do. As what I ve learned, research
has seven methods. The first step called: defining the problem . That means at the really first time
when we do research, we should know what we want to know via this research. We need to come up
some research question in our mind. The second step called: reviewing the literature . In this step, we
should read some previous studies which are related to our topic. The literature must be trustable, and
for journals, peer review is the better choice. The third step called: forming a hypothesis . This step
tells us after we are familiar with the previous research, maybe we can form a hypothesis in our mind.
Actually, I have a little question about this step. Is this hypothesis based on the gap in the previous?
The fourth step is choosing a research design. This is a step that organizes our research method. We
need to think about who is the participants, when and how well we collect data. The fifth step is
collecting the data. This step is kind of do your research plan what you prepared in the fourth step.
There are many ways we can choose to collect data. Such as questionnaires, online survey etc. Next
step is analyzing the data. This step is kind of tell the readers our research results. For here, we should
determine if our hypothesis was true, false, or inconclusive. Also how the result similar to your
thought. The final step is drawing conclusions. I think this is the most important part because you

The Burden Of St. Paul Essay
The Burden of St. Paul Today: Us vs Them
Christianity has over 2.1 billion followers throughout the world and is known to be a universal,
monotheistic belief system that has been developed since the life, death and resurrection of Jesus
Christ. The apostle Paul is a man, which is known for his mission to spread Christianity. He was raised
as a jew, and ironically, during his youth he was persecuted by Christians. Paul, known as Saul during
this time, was born in Tarsus. Saul, during his years as a Jewish Pharisee in Tarsus, would militantly
persecute anything that involved Christianity. He was so much opposed to Christianity that he was
given authority by the chief priest to destroy these followers of Christianity. Saul decided that he
would extend his persecution to other cities such as Damascus. It was this walk on the road to
Damascus that would serve as a major turning point in his life. Jesus appeared to Saul, saying Saul,
Saul! Why do you persecute me? (Acts 9:1 6) Paul was blinded, yet his mind became clear. He knew
then that Jesus was calling him to spread the salvation brought by faith through Jesus Christ. These
renewed eyes of Paul were now determined to seek out individuals that needed to hear about salvation
through Jesus, specifically, his people the Jews. The Christian Church of today consists of
approximately 38,000 Christian denominations spread out across the globe. Many of which actively
send missionaries to foreign countries. Would Paul, or even

Essay about Coyote And Don Maclean
Allegory of American Pie by Don McLean
A Piece of the quot;Pie quot;
Ask anyone what was the defining moment in the rock history of the 1960s was and all you will get is
a one word answer: Woodstock. The three day rock festival that defined an era was only one of many
music festivals of the
60s. But Woodstock has come to symbolize, quot;an era of peaceful, free loving, drug taking hippie
youth, carefree before harsher realities hit... quot;
(Layman 40). The Woodstock festival ended a century filled with many metamorphoses of rock n roll,
from the era of pop music to the rebirth of folk music to the invention of acid rock. But some cynics
say that rock n roll died with the death of Buddy Holly before the 60s even began.

Holly was on tour with a collection of performers, and he wanted to fly to the next stop instead of
taking the bus.
He chartered a plane and a pilot to fly him and two others to Fargo, North
Dakota (Verse 1). Originally it was to be Holly, Waylon Jennings, and
Tommy Allsup. But J.P. Richardson ( quot; The Big Bopper quot;) talked Jennings into giving him his
seat and Allsup lost his seat to Richie Valens ( quot;La
Bamba quot;) on a coin toss (Jordan). The pilot, Roger Peterson, was a visual pilot, and not certified to
fly an instrument plane flight. But on the night of
February 3, 1959 the plane when up during a flurry. The pilot lost control and while he believed he
was steering up, the plane went straight down.
When the plane crashed all four men died instantly (Jordan). The day that the plane crash henceforth
became known as quot; The day the music died quot;.
The chorus in American Pie is the main theme of the song. American Pie is the pure American art of
rock and roll. The Chevy is the icon of America.
The levee is the source of music and since the decline of original rock and roll, there is no water (or
talent) in the levee: it s dry. quot; This ll be the day that
I die, quot; was taken from a Buddy Holly song entitled quot; That ll be the Day quot; and a line in the
chorus read, quot; That ll be the day that I die, quot; (Kulawiec).

Implementing An Ed Fast Track Area ( Fta )
Emergency Department crowding is a cause for great concern. It is costly and responsible for
compromising quality of care and community trust (McHugh, VanDyke, McClelland, Moss, 2011).
According to McHugh et al. (2011), improving patient flow can mitigate ED crowding. This paper
will describe a plan to implement an ED fast track area (FTA) as one solution to improve patient flow
and reduce ED crowding. The author will describe the approval process, review the problem, discuss
the proposal, explain the rationale behind the proposal, examine the evidence, describe the
implementation logistics, and determine the necessary resources required for implementation.
Implementation Strategy
Obtaining Approval
In September 2016, the Director of the ED at St. Anthony North Health Campus (SANHC) ED was
approached to discuss the challenges with patient flow. Approval was given to proceed with a study on
the implementation of an FTA as one solution to reduce ED crowding. As this project moves forward,
the author will also seek approval from the ED staff, the Medical Director for the ED, the Chief
Nursing Officer (CNO), and the Chief Medical Officer.
The Problem
St. Anthony North Health Campus (SANHC) ED is a busy Level III trauma center in Westminster,
Colorado. The ED sees approximately 27, 775 patients a year. Of those patients, approximately 27.3%
are Emergency Severity Index (ESI) Levels 4 and 5. The average wait time (WT) for all patients is 11

Borges Misrepresentations
The writer Jorge Luis Borges is known for his inclusion of references to other literary texts in his own
writing. Occasionally, Borges seems to make references to real works, but they do not exist. He also
makes references to works that exist, but he incorrectly represents the plot or characters of the text.
There is an argument about whether or not Borges reference to Liddell Hart s work in The Garden of
Forking Paths is a true misrepresentation and whether or not the misrepresentation should be
important to the overall meaning of the short story. For my research paper, I intend to explore these
mistakes as misrepresentations by explaining reasons why Borges might have intentionally made such

Gregory Vii s Foundations
The challenge thrown out by Gregory VII forced the emperors to seek new foundations for their
position. Gregory s great opponent, the emperor Henry IV, had still asserted the traditional rights of
his father. His successors in the 12th century, Henry V (1106 25), Lothar II (1125 37), Frederick I
Barbarossa (1152 90), and Henry VI (1190 97), shifted their ground. To counter the arguments of
church lawyers they grasped the weapons provided by the revival of Roman law. A new and more
exalted conception of the empire was the result. Best known was the addition by Frederick I
Barbarossa, in 1157, of the word sacrum to the name of the empire, which then became the Sacrum
Imperium (Holy Empire) as a counterbalance to the Sancta Ecclesia (Holy Church). Equally
characteristic was the canonization of Charlemagne by Frederick s antipope Paschal III in 1165. In this
way Frederick emphasized continuity with the Frankish past and asserted his rights as Charlemagne s
successor. They derived, he argued, not from conferment by the pope or by the Roman people but
from Frankish conquest. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hohenstaufen emperors asserted rights no less universal. Though in day to day politics, in their

world dominion, nevertheless the new imperialism soon called forth protests from all sides from

When Danny got into range my dad lit the firework taped onto his hand and let it go. The firework
flew out of his hand like a bullet out of a gun. My dad got what he wanted and a lot more. The
firework struck Danny right in the middle of his back. Not only did it burn Danny s back it melted his

the crying the parents all rush out of the house to see what was going on they say Danny laying on the
ground with his shirt melted to his back. They started yelling at my dad, especially my Grandpa Blake
who said some colorful things. My dad also started to cry because only being ten and all he was still a

and grabbed the flag from the other team and ran back to his side. At least they won the game right.

Worldviews are depicted as solutions to clarify the phenomenon we experience. Groothuis gives
criteria for assessing worldviews like they were hypotheses about the world.13
Mystery or a Paradox. The first criteria states that a worldview should not rely on mystery, but it
should explain something.14 Every religion has certain fundamental beliefs, such as the, Creation. The
idea of the creation has been a mystery or paradox for religion because of the concept of God creating

Bourgeoisie And Industrialism
In the wood carvings created in 1846, two separate images depict a model welfare institution for
orphaned girls and boys in Germany during the early years of industrialization. Both images portray a
glorified view of the Bourgeoisie, who were owners of the means of production, and the Proletariat,
members of the working class. These two social classes propelled the Industrial Revolution in Europe.
The two images titled Orphaned Girls and Boys in a Welfare Institution, present an idealized situation
of the Industrial Revolution and argue that the Bourgeoisie depended on the labor of the Proletariat for
economic prosperity and survival.
The Industrial Revolution began in England during the early nineteenth century when demand for iron

Members of the Proletariat became forced to sell their manual labor to the Bourgeoisie to live. The
Bourgeoisie and Proletariat worked closely together but quickly developed a one sided relationship
with the Bourgeoisie controlling work hours and wages.
The first of the two carvings, titled Orphaned Girls and Boys in a Welfare Institution, claim it was
vital for young girls during the Industrial Revolution to learn how to sew correctly. The Industrial
Revolution called upon every man and woman to produce material goods. To maximize production,
the Bourgeoisie became forced to increase their labor force and had to teach young girls necessary
trade skills. In the orphanage, some girls seem confused and do not know how to sew because they are
staying away from their work (Image 1). The Bourgeoisie are unable to gain economic wealth when
members of their labor force were unable to assemble a product or material correctly. Additionally, in
the far right corner of the image, the leader of the orphanage punished a girl, yet she still sews (Image
1), which indicates that even though the girl committed an egregious act, the Bourgeoisie still
depended on her labor because they still needed to meet the daily quota.
Marxism agrees with the argument made by the first image: the Bourgeoisie depending on the labor of
the Proletariat for economic survival.

Ethnic Identity And Ethnic Development Essay
Ethnicity is defined as the fact or state of belonging to a social group that has a common national or
cultural tradition. While this definition suggests a black and white concept, ethnicity is often complex
and misunderstood due to the breadth of the topic. Frequently in society, young people inherit their
ethnic identity at birth based on the culture they are born into. However, during puberty they often
begin to doubt/explore their identity and strive to discover what ethnic group they belong in and not
just the one they were assigned. This complex process has spurred psychologists to delve into the
phenomenon of how differing cultures undergo this process of finding themselves . This research has
culminated into a theory based on stages of ethnic development by Phinney Ong. This paper will
investigate further into this topic, in concern to Scarlett O Hara, a fictional character portrayed in the
film classic Gone with the Wind . While many models exist to describe the phenomenon of ethnic
identity, the model in question is the Ethnic Identity Development model proposed by Phinney and
Ong in 1992. Their theory contains underpinnings of both Erikson and Marcia and is divided into
three stages: Unexamined Ethnic Identity, Moratorium, and Ethnic Identity Achievement. Phinney s
theory rests on the proposal that individuals begin in a state of indifference, confusion, or minimal
awareness about their ethnicity, and move toward more complex, flexible, and informed ways

The Financial Performance And Condition Of The Porsche Se...
When we think about Porches, we think about beautiful, high performance, sports cars. Porches
started in a small workshop in Gmund, Austria, where the first sports car was released in June of 1948.
Since then Porsche has grown into a thriving company that is associated with the beautiful sports cars

under the Porsche brand and also produces a variety of brands that fall under the Volkswagen umbrella
of the company. Porsche s has grown into one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world.
Throughout this paper, we will assess the financial performance and condition of the Porsche SE
Group, as well as, providing an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
(SWOT) in relation to this company. In addition, company decisions will be analyzed for quality.
Also, a few recommendations for improving the company will be provided. Porsche was founded in
1930 by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche as an automotive design and engineering company (Funding Universe,

feeling of inadequacy on a young person and how they cope with it, in this case the young girl
develops a fantasy world in which she battles the evil with her sister. It also shows how a person s

Empirical Formula Of Zinc Iodide Lab Report
Introduction: The main purpose of this experiment is to determine the empirical formula of zinc
iodide, and in addition, validate the law of conservation of mass by precisely determining the
quantities of reactants and products. Empirical formula is the simplest type of chemical formula. The
simplest ratio of the number of atoms of each element in the compound is determined by the empirical
formal of a compound. Typically the ratio provided by the empirical formula contains whole numbers.
On the other hand, there are molecular formulas in which gives the definite number of atoms of the
element. Glucose (sugar) has a molecular formula of C6H12O6 and an empirical formula of CH2 O.

Next, a glass stirring rod was used periodically in which dissolved the iodine. It continued to boil for
about twenty minutes and at this point in the boiling process the dark brown color of the dissolved
iodine subsided and this was an indication that displayed that the reaction had been complete. At this
moment, there was observable unreacted zinc granules in which remained at the base of the flask. The
reaction was then completed and the flask was removed from the hot plate using tongs, the aluminum
foil used to cover the top of the flask was removed. Following that a 250 mL beaker was clean, dried

MUSIC 89S: Composers of Influence

The Symphony in the Key of Change:
The Evolving Symphonic Landscape as Beethoven Influenced It The famed American pianist and
composer Les Baxter once said, Any good music must be an innovation. Indeed, the works of
Beethoven and the successors that he influenced have lived on because they possess a certain quality
of enduring musical entrepreneurship. As Beethoven straddled the line between the Classical and
Romantic period, he himself acted as both a messenger and a craftsman: translating the techniques of
the Classical era to the early Romantic period, only to then transform these techniques into
masterpieces that were considered to be radically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, before the Romantic symphonists made further innovations to orchestration, which is the
combination of instruments to produce various timbres and colors in any composition, Beethoven had
completely revolutionized the ways in which future composers would come to think of how to
construct a symphony. During the Classical period, prominent composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart and Joseph Haydn came to define what the symphony was and how it should be orchestrated.
In the eighteenth century, the orchestra was typically composed of strings (first and second violins,
violas, cellos, and double basses), a limited woodwind section (two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets
and two bassoons), a relatively small brass section (two to four horns and two trumpets), and a minor
percussion section with only two timpani (Erb). The string section was considered to be the most
important section, and the woodwinds would usually double with the strings to play the melody. This
practice, in turn, made it so that there was great balance and clarity within pieces of the Classical era,
though little diversity among the different instruments ( History of Classical Music ). As concert halls
grew larger and classical music became more democratic, music began to change. These facts,

History Of Copyright Law With Indian Context Essay
HISTORY OF COPYRIGHT LAW WITH INDIAN CONTEXT:
India has one of the oldest academic traditions with formal education finding a place in its ancient
history. The universities of Takshila and Nalandaare great centers of learning in the early world,
teaming with students and teachers from all parts of the world, not to say about the great Gurukul
tradition in the age old past. However, those are the days when learning was considered as gift of God,
freely received and freely given. Over the centuries, the learning approach gradually changed. Old
traditions paved way for new ones. New economic models and institutional structures emerged.
Concept of copyright in literary works found a place inIndia by the nineteenth century.
India had its first Copyright Law enacted on 18th December 1847 much earlier than many other
countries. The scope of the Act covered books only and no other kinds of creative expressions. It
isinteresting to read the title of that legislation: An Act for the encouragement of learningin the
territories subject to the Government of the East India Company, bydefining and providing for the
enforcementof the right called copyright therein .The scope of that Act covered only books and no
other kinds of creativeexpressions. It is, however, remarkablethat the Act provided for compulsory
license to publish a book, which theoriginal publisher had refused to republishso that books in demand

Compare And Contrast The Whiskey Rebellion And Shays...

APUSH Section 3
1. Compare and contrast the Whiskey rebellion to Shays rebellion. How would the differing results
inform a historian of the power of the Federal Government in comparison to the Articles of
Confederation and the Constitution? (page 187).
Shays Rebellion began because of the economic depression, insufficient harvests, and high duties,
lead to farmers being seized and thrown in jail if they were unable to pay their taxes. This angered a
large group in Massachusetts and a man named Daniel Shay, a Revolutionary war veteran, to arrange
protests against the government. The Whiskey rebellion was triggered when George Washington s
government placed a tax on distilled alcohol and whiskey. Protesters showed their discontent by
tarring and feathering revenue officers, similar to those during the anti stamp act days. Although both
rebellions were challenging the government, Shay s Rebellion revealed the weaknesses of the Articles
of Confederation as the national government could not tax, enforce laws or raise money for an army.
Already weakened by the Revolutionary War, the Articles of Confederation could not defend against
the rebellion. Unlike the outcome of Shays rebellion, George Washington lead an army of militia to
immediately put down the rebellion which lead to his government being strengthened and gaining
respect. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Satanic Verses By Salman Rushdie
Salman Rushdie is a passionate novelist and essayist known for his magical realism, who expresses
his beliefs and influences through his works. Rushdie has frequently described himself as a historian
of ideas, and many of his novels are novels of ideas rather than narrations centered on a plot or
character. 1 Furthermore, Rushdie s pessimistic views of religion are seen in his writings, from The
Satanic Verses to recent essays like, Out of Kansas. I will also discuss the fatwa calling for his
assassination and resulting in him being put under police protection by the British government. To
begin, Rushdie was born into a Muslim family. Although Rushdie was a student of Islam, he claimed
to be a lapsed Muslim. Ultimately, he expressed that he did not believe in supernatural entities,
whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Hindu. Rushdie s outspoken work, The Satanic Verses caused
great controversy in the Islamic world because of what was seen by some to be an irreverent depiction
of Muhammad. Rushdie is the author of 11 novels, 4 books, shorts stories and many essays. In
addition, many of his books focus on the role of religion in society and the effect and conflict. Rushdie
believed, Religion, a medieval form of unreason, when combined with modern weaponry becomes a
real threat to our freedoms. 2 Also, Religion is a story, and it seems to me that a definition of any

Likewise, during the night when people don t want to make the full trek into the kitchen to grab some

In study by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in 1999, it revealed that twenty two
percent of the one thousand water bottles being tested contained an alarming amount of chemicals that
surpassed the health limit in one or more states. In addition, out of one hundred and three brands that
were tested, at least eighteen of them were found to have had contained microbiological contaminants,
once again exceeding the health limits (Hyder). Although the study is a bit older, the problem of
finding chemicals in bottled water has continued. Since the year 2000, there have been nine outbreaks
due to contamination in bottled water (Commercially Bottled Water). In 2004, Coca Cola withdrew its
own water bottle brand because of concerns about a possible carcinogen in the water (Ward, Owen,

a concern in a popular water bottle brand could result in dangerous outcomes (Known and

Current Performance Although Volcom holds a relatively small market share compared to its
competition: | 2008 | 2007 | 2006 | Volcom | 0.7% | 0.6% | 0.8% | Nike | 8.3% | 8.0% | 7.9% |
Quicksilver | 2.2% | 2.4% | 2.6% | Billabong | 1.9% | 1.6% | 1.7% |
...even in a down turning economy, Volcom s 2008 consolidated revenues increased 24.5% to $334.4
million from 268.6 million in 2007. This portends great things for the future.
Volcom has found, or was founded in (and is nurturing) the boardsport niche in apparel and
accessories. It does not look to grow quickly, but to take advantage of this niche.
It is also expanding the ancillary markets to this niche in both music and video. Music and video have
been a small portion of the Volcom portfolio (about 1% of earnings), but based upon the fact that the
music and video arenas are wonderful marketing tools and that they are making, and not costing,
profit they are worth much more than this 1%. Add to that the fact that at any moment a video or audio
component to catch on and rise to the top. Such an event (or events) would add exponentially to the
bottom line. Between profits and marketing, a star could mean millions added to the net income.
Volcom is also gradually expanding its foreign presence (income from foreign markets up by 125% in
the last 4 years).

Pablo Picasso Chrysanthemums
The painting I chose was a painting of Chrysanthemums by Pablo Picasso. It is a very simple and
straightforward, yet captivating image. The way the petals on the flowers were painted are very
interesting, each of them were created with unique stroke of the brush. Picasso obviously wanted
viewers to focus only flowers as the foreground and background were left somewhat rugged and
undetailed. At first it may be hard to notice, however, it can be seen that the source of light for the
picture is on the left as the right side is painted with slightly darker colors. When positioned directly in
front of the painting the flowers actually do not seem as flowers at all. Only until you move farther
back will the blurry strokes of white and red actually

Rhetorical Analysis For Global Warming
Global Warming is a huge problem for the environment. The earth s temperature has risen about 1
degree Fahrenheit since 1900 the temperatures are continuing to rise setting record temperature
(Biello). This image is a public service announcement to turn off lights because it is a cause to global
warming. In the image a penguin is pulling on a plug to turn out a light. This image evokes an
emotional response because it has a baby penguin looking scared behind its mom, while the ice they
are on is melting. It also illustrates a point that leaving lights on can cause global warming because it
states it in the text. The light shining on the penguins looks like it is melting the ice they are standing
on. I selected this image because it caught my eye and then made me read the text, which shows that it
is an effective PSA. I also think global warming is a problem and I did not know that leaving lights on
made such a big impact. This image can be analyzed by looking at the six rhetorical factors: character
and action, setting, point of view, use of color, special effects, and image presentation. First, the
characters and action in this advertisement make a large impact on this image. The penguins are
struggling and are fearful for their lives. The animal s facial expressions express how they are
distressed that the light is causing the ice they are standing on to melt. This displays how much of a
problem global warming is and how we should be more fearful of the impact it is making in the colder
climates. One sources states Specifically, more than two thirds of Antarctica s emperor penguin
colonies will decline by more than 50 percent by the end of the century under future climate change
scenarios (Palermo). This shows that global warming is truly hurting the penguins and many other
animals similar. The picture suggests an action to turn off lights to help reduce the pollution. Second,
the setting of the image takes place somewhere cold, which is the main area affected by global
warming. The penguins are standing on a block of ice symbolizing the Arctic and the block of ice is
melting. The Science Daily reports that ice melting rates were 25 times higher than expected in
localized areas of Antarctica s largest

Why I Want Become A Paralegal
It is a task in itself for one, such as myself, to allow another to fully grasp the principle of why I want
to become a paralegal, let alone explain it within three pages without simply stating, I desire to use the
set of skills and passion that I possess in order to help others while working within this specific field
of law. Nevertheless, the reality of the fact is that it is purely the essence and core of why I have the
drive and determination to work towards becoming a paralegal. I wish I could say, like many other
have in the past and present, that I had always wanted to pursue a career in legal studies, but that is not
the case here. As I entered university a mere five years ago, I came with the impression that I would
obtain a Bachelor in History and eventually secure a position in the field of law. If that were to fail, I
would become a Professor of History. That is not to say that teaching is not a noble and integral part of
our society, which it indefinitely is; it would be an honour for anyone to teach however it was never
truly for me. The fact is, about a year into university, I quickly realized/comprehended/recognized that
teaching would simply be a scapegoat for the circumstance that I had yet to figure out what particular
profession that I wanted to aim for in law. Needless to say it was a frightening conclusion for myself
as it had been my aspiration to fully set my foot into the law atmosphere once I was finished with my
education. It was not until

Superhero Comparison Essay
Superhero Compare and Contrast Why are Deadpool and Deathstroke so similar? Marvel and DC have
both discretely plagiarized character ideas for decades. It seems a writer can not create an original idea
for a superhero without copying a trait or personality from some other popular superhero character.
When observing a biographical website or article about the newly created superhero Mouth Rot , a
reader may recognize key features between Mouth Rot and other famous superheroes. Mouth Rot is
similar in appearance and ability to Cyborg from the original Teen Titans TV show. He also shares
similar backstory features to Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier in the Captain America and The
Avengers movies. Mouth Rot s main plot line, personality, and some of his powers are similar to
Deadshot in the Suicide Squad movie. However, Mouth Rot is not a completely plagiarized character,
and has many unique attributes to his personality and morality. In regards to Mouth Rot and Cyborg
from the Teen Titans series, their appearances are inarguably similar. Both Mouth Rot and Cyborg are

Both men were good before their unfortunate transformations Bucky and Mouth Rot were both
essentially transformed into cyborgs by villainous forces. Although Bucky is not a cyborg, his arm is
made of metal and has superhuman strength. When Bucky and Mouth Rot were made into cyborgs,
they were also brainwashed by the forces that altered them. These forces used both Bucky and Mouth
Rot for nefarious purposes. Eventually, Bucky and Mouth Rot fight against their oppressors and
slowly become heroes. While Mouth Rot s control of himself is instantaneous after his master dies and
he is rewired, Bucky was physically brainwashed, so it took him more time to overcome his villainous
tendencies. Mouth Rot and Bucky are similar in the ways they were brainwashed, but not in the ways
they overcame

Martha Stewart and the Imclone Scandal
no. 1 0083
Martha Stewart and the ImClone Scandal
On January 20, 2004, jury selection launched the trial of Martha Stewart, Chief Creative Officer and
former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia
(MSO). Nine charges filed by the Federal Grand Jury in New York and the SEC relate to Stewart s
personal sale of $228,000 in ImClone Systems, Inc. stock on December 27, 2001, one day before
regulators rejected the biotech company s cancer drug (Erbitux) and sent its stock tumbling.
Communications records show that Stewart placed an 11 minute cellphone call to her assistant at 1:31
P.M. EST on December 27 to check her messages. The call was registered moments after Stewart s
chartered private jet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No formal stop loss order was ever recorded: shares of ImClone indeed dipped below the alleged stop
loss price of $60 in the period since Stewart claims having affected that order, and none of Stewart s
ImClone stocks were automatically sold. Bacanovic s hand scribbled notation of stop loss order...
@$60 on Stewart s Merrill Lynch worksheet is written in a different ink than other notations on that
page. Bacanovic s assistant, Douglas Faneuil, has pleased guilty to a misdemeanor charge of
misleading investigators about the content of his phone call with Stewart on December 27: he is
expected to testify that Bacanovic made him lie to corroborate Stewart s alibi, and that he himself
informed Stewart that Waksal was trying to dump his stock that fateful day. Feds also claim that four
days before Stewart met with them, she altered her secretary s phone log, changing the entry for
December 27, 2001 to read Peter Bacanovic re: ImClone, rather than the actual message Peter
Bacanovic thinks ImClone is going to start trading downward. Also, in a letter to congressional
investigators, Stewart s lawyers say she talked with Bacanovic himself from the tarmac on December
27, though Bacanovic was on vacation in Miami that day. Select interpersonal communications and
coincidences also raise questions for the defense. Phone records register a call from Stewart to

Migrant Workers Essay
Migrant workers are people who leave their hometowns to live and work in other cities or countries.
Everyday, there are people moving from one place to another, it may because of wanting to change a
working condition, to break away from unemployment, or to find new opportunities for self
development. Someone may against that they bring a lot of negative impact on the places they moved
to live and work, but in my opinion, whenever in economic, cultural and social aspect, they bring
much more advantages to those places. First, the diaspora makes positive impacts on the economy of a
country. In the view of economy, when there are more people are looking for a job, which means the
demand for jobs increased, a lower wages can be resulted, so that the country can be benefited by
getting more and cheaper labour force, which would help increase the productivity of the country, the
competitiveness of it increased. Also, the migrant workers would bring new capitals to the cities or
countries, that they must have to bring money for the livings, or if they are come to that ... Show more

As there are people from other countries comes, there would have people from different places in a
workplace, or neighborhood, so that people can communicate different cultures at the same place. And
by communicating cultures, cultural integration can be promoted, which would benefit those places
that migrant workers moved in. By promoting cultural integration, the domestic people s acceptance
for the diaspora increase, they can agree to more cultures, so that more migrant people would like to
come and develop. For instance, if the local people would not resist trying food from different
countries, outsiders may be more willing migrating to that place to start a new business providing
featured dishes from their hometown, so that people can have more choices when choosing a meal,
different food cultures can be shared and

Cyber Security Case Study

Understanding GDPR Regulations What it Means for Cyber Security
On May 25, 2018 the European Union will begin enforcing the new General Data Protection
Regulations (GDPR) that will create one data protection standard throughout the EU. These
regulations were designed to create a unified standard for personal data privacy and to simplify the
enforcement of data privacy laws throughout all EU countries. What some organizations are surprised
to learn, is that these regulations go beyond the physical confines of the EU and apply to any
organization that collects or holds information on EU citizens. This means that companies throughout
the world need to understand and ensure compliance with GDRP guidelines if they ... Show more

Organizations in control of the data must provide a free electronic copy of the data.
Right to be forgotten: Covered data subjects have the right to have the organization in control of
his/her personal data erase and stop using that data if they withdraw consent. When this happens, the
organization s data controller must weigh the subjects rights vs. the public interest in the availability
of the data.
As you can see, GDPR creates a lot of new regulations surrounding data use. This is a short list of
examples, but GDPR also includes rules for data portability, legitimate use of data for direct
marketing, data profiling and more.
How does this impact an organization s cyber security approach?
While every company should always be considering the safety and security of information, GDPR is
looking to ensure that organizations are taking data security seriously and incorporating it into the
initial design of any new systems, as well as securing all existing systems. Many large companies
collecting data on EU citizens will be required to employ a Data Protection Officer to ensure
compliance and proper reporting.
Similar to US HIPAA requirements, GDPR calls for organizations to limit personal data access to only
those users that requires the specific data to perform his/her job. Organizations must also prove that
appropriate network safeguards are in place to protect the privacy of the data. With the

  • 2. Police Shootings And Police Brutality The topic that has my interest would be police shooting and how much it has gotten worse over the years. Thiers a lot of questions asked when it comes to police shootings/police brutality. The first thing that the media always brings up is did the person deserve to be shot or was the person shooting at the police, in which case two valid questions but the fact the cops shoot to kill it appears in many police shooting they will usually shoot at the body of the person, they aren t likely to shoot at your legs or a place that won t automatically cause death. The reason this is a concern is because I believe the African American community is targeted more than any other ethnic group in America, they are more searched than any other ethnic group it causes fear with the community and this also makes the police job harder, because now they will be more trigger happy to shoot someone in a slight move they make. A big media case from last year was shown an African American man helping his patience that left his care, while this was going on the man was laying down with his hands up telling the cops I am just trying to help my patience within 2 minutes the policeman shoots at the unarmed man injuring him, but lucky the man survived. The strange part of this shooting was that the police was 20 foot from the man that they shot, which also makes you wonder how is it possible that a man can have his arm raised clearly a video of the incident showing the man with his hands up still was ... • 5. The Rosewood Film s Depictions of the Rosewood Massacre Racial tension between African Americans and whites caused an excessive amount of violence in the city of Rosewood. Citizens of Rosewood, Florida were victims of racial violence in 1923, which lead to eight documented deaths in the city. The city of Rosewood took a turn for the worst on January 1, 1923 when Frances Fannie Taylor claimed that she was assaulted by an African American man who enter her home without invitation. Many of the African American families that became involved knew that Mrs. Taylor was not telling the truth. Fannie lied to the people of Rosewood to fabricate the truth of her having an affair with another man. The man that assaulted her was not an African American; it was Fannie Taylor s lover. Because of the lie, the city of Rosewood was instantly torn into pieces. The Rosewood massacre was not a well known historical event. To bring awareness to an important part of African American history, John Singleton decided to create a motion picture based on the Rosewood events. The movie displays the town that was filled with racial prejudice. It shows the many injustice attacks on the African American community. John Singleton did an exceptional job bringing the horrific racist events of 1923 in Rosewood, Florida to the eyes of billions. In the movie, a fictional hero was created. His name was Mr. Mann. The War of 1812 was a conflict between the United States of America and Great Britain that had been building for many years. By the end of the war however there was no clear victor and the issues that caused the conflict were never resolved. Nature played a crucial role in the outcome. Because of humanity s natural strive for power, the living and fighting conditions of the soldiers, and the geographical layout of the countries involved, nature was a driving force during the War of 1812. Hunger and greed are a part of human nature as much, if not more than, any other emotion. The struggle for power and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This alliance increased the tension between the British and the Americans. The Americans had been trying to convert the Indians to farmers so they could take over their hunting land, and the American public was concerned that if the British supplied the Indians with weapons it would incite dangerous riots and revolts. To make matters worse for the American the Indians were being led by Chief Tecumseh who wished to unite all of the Indians into essentially one tribe to assist in their fight for land. This would have most likely been successful had his brother known as The Prophet led the Indians into battle against William Henry Harrison s army at the Battle of Tippecanoe which led to the massacre of Indians Tecumseh had been away negotiating at the time and returned to find his work completely undone, so he joined what little forces he had left with the British. Tecumseh was killed at the Battle of Moraviantown on the Thames River.1 Not only were the Indians involved in the battle between the British and Americans. Also during this time period it seemed that the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte could not keep his influence out of any international business. Organizational Behaviour Case Analysis Case Analysis: Leading Change At Simmons Problem Identification In the case Leading Change at Simmons , the fundamental issue for Simmons Company is whether or not it should go ahead with Eitel s proposed idea of a culture change program which would cost $7.2 million at a time where the company is encompassed in a myriad of problems and severe economic crises . He could do this by encouraging better communication in the company and educating the management about his plan by communicating the logic of his proposed changes. If the employees see the full facts and solve the misunderstandings, resistance should subside. This can be done by allowing the employees to develop and form the plans to introduce changes with him which would allow for enhanced participation and acceptance of the change as the employees would have a sense of ownership in the change made which will make it much easier for them to conform once everyone is on board for the decision. Eitel should also make sure that all changes are fair to everyone and do not come of as being biased which could create discrepancies among the workers. • 8. Automatic Temperature Control Fan Abstract: The automatic temperature control system is a very essential feature of a factory or an industry. In most of the case the temperature plays a vital role in the process of manufacturing or the process carried in that factory or industry. The most common and simplest way of controlling temperature is by using a fan which is automatically connected to a network such as it is switched on when the temperature of the surroundings increases. The change in temperature of the surroundings can be sensed with the help of thermistor or a sensistor. These electronic components sense the temperature of the surroundings. When there is a change in the temperatue tempetature then these electronic components start to conduct the electric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the above discussion it is concluded that for the having low output from the timer 555, the voltage on the threshold input must exceed the control voltage or + 2/3 VCC. They also turn the discharge transistor on. To force the output from the timer high, the voltage on the trigger input must drop below +1/3 VCC. This also turns the discharge transistor off. A voltage may be applied to the control input to change the levels at which the switching occurs. When not in use, a 0.01 nano Farad capacitor should be connected between pin 5 and ground to prevent noise coupled onto this pin from causing false triggering. Connecting the reset (pin 4) to a logic low will place a high on the output of flip flop. The discharge transistor will go on and the power amplifier will output a low. This condition will continue until reset is taken high. This allows synchronization or resetting of the circuit s operation. When not in use, reset should be tied to +VCC. • 13. Presidency Essay Presidency Although it is often said that the President of the United States holds the most powerful office in the world, this does not mean that he is able to decide very much for himself. The American Constitution, which was adapted in 1789, clearly states the Separation of Powers. Thus, the president makes up only one third of the government, namely the executive branch. He is also controlled by a complex system of checks and balances, which makes sure that he (or any of the other branches, for that matter) does not become too powerful. We will now have a look at the different problems which may be facing a recently elected president, and then discuss to what extent his powers are important. The first and foremost problem is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Congress is of course often the most serious problem to a new president. It is after all the legislative branch of government, and passes both ordinary and tax bills. Another important element worth mentioning here, is the huge amount of lobbying which goes on in America. Private associations and companies, that officially do not have any power, gain a lot of influence through the persuasion of congressmen(and women) or/and senators. One example is the National Rifle Association (NRA), which has so far succeeded in destroying any attempt to introduce gun control in America. Another one is how the powerful insurance companies helped to kill President Clinton s welfare reform a couple of years ago. In the US system of checks and balances, the Supreme Court is also very powerful. They are able to create a lot of trouble for the president if they want to, as they have the so called power of judicial review. This means that they can declare any law or presidential act unconstitutional. The Supreme Court Justices are appointed for life, and the president has therefore no means of controlling them, unless they resign voluntarily or die. The balance between liberal and conservative justices here, is therefore of course subject to a lot of interest, and the president has good reasons in maintaining a harmonious relation to the Supreme Court. This course taught me the roots of human beings. Until now, I realized how human was born, and I also learn a lot about human development and possible diseases in each period. Besides, I learned the research process. They are really wonderful knowledge and helpful to me! The three thing I interested is research methods, the collaborative gene, and prenatal development. First of all. I learned research methods from the video lecture. That is the first time I ve heard about a detailed explanation of research methods. I was really interested in it because it is very important for us. The higher education level we are, the more research we need to do. As what I ve learned, research has seven methods. The first step called: defining the problem . That means at the really first time when we do research, we should know what we want to know via this research. We need to come up some research question in our mind. The second step called: reviewing the literature . In this step, we should read some previous studies which are related to our topic. The literature must be trustable, and for journals, peer review is the better choice. The third step called: forming a hypothesis . This step tells us after we are familiar with the previous research, maybe we can form a hypothesis in our mind. Actually, I have a little question about this step. Is this hypothesis based on the gap in the previous? The fourth step is choosing a research design. This is a step that organizes our research method. We need to think about who is the participants, when and how well we collect data. The fifth step is collecting the data. This step is kind of do your research plan what you prepared in the fourth step. There are many ways we can choose to collect data. Such as questionnaires, online survey etc. Next step is analyzing the data. This step is kind of tell the readers our research results. For here, we should determine if our hypothesis was true, false, or inconclusive. Also how the result similar to your thought. The final step is drawing conclusions. The Burden Of St. Paul Essay The Burden of St. Paul Today: Us vs Them Christianity has over 2.1 billion followers throughout the world and is known to be a universal, monotheistic belief system that has been developed since the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul is a man, which is known for his mission to spread Christianity. He was raised as a jew, and ironically, during his youth he was persecuted by Christians. Paul, known as Saul during this time, was born in Tarsus. Saul, during his years as a Jewish Pharisee in Tarsus, would militantly persecute anything that involved Christianity. He was so much opposed to Christianity that he was given authority by the chief priest to destroy these followers of Christianity. Saul decided that he would extend his persecution to other cities such as Damascus. It was this walk on the road to Damascus that would serve as a major turning point in his life. Jesus appeared to Saul, saying Saul, Saul! Why do you persecute me? (Acts 9:1 6) Paul was blinded, yet his mind became clear. He knew then that Jesus was calling him to spread the salvation brought by faith through Jesus Christ. These renewed eyes of Paul were now determined to seek out individuals that needed to hear about salvation through Jesus, specifically, his people the Jews. • 21. Gregory Vii s Foundations The challenge thrown out by Gregory VII forced the emperors to seek new foundations for their position. Gregory s great opponent, the emperor Henry IV, had still asserted the traditional rights of his father. His successors in the 12th century, Henry V (1106 25), Lothar II (1125 37), Frederick I Barbarossa (1152 90), and Henry VI (1190 97), shifted their ground. To counter the arguments of church lawyers they grasped the weapons provided by the revival of Roman law. A new and more exalted conception of the empire was the result. Best known was the addition by Frederick I Barbarossa, in 1157, of the word sacrum to the name of the empire, which then became the Sacrum Imperium (Holy Empire) as a counterbalance to the Sancta Ecclesia (Holy Church). Equally characteristic was the canonization of Charlemagne by Frederick s antipope Paschal III in 1165. These two social classes propelled the Industrial Revolution in Europe. The first of the two carvings, titled Orphaned Girls and Boys in a Welfare Institution, claim it was vital for young girls during the Industrial Revolution to learn how to sew correctly. The Industrial Revolution called upon every man and woman to produce material goods. To maximize production, the Bourgeoisie became forced to increase their labor force and had to teach young girls necessary trade skills. In the orphanage, some girls seem confused and do not know how to sew because they are staying away from their work (Image 1). The Bourgeoisie are unable to gain economic wealth when members of their labor force were unable to assemble a product or material correctly. Additionally, in the far right corner of the image, the leader of the orphanage punished a girl, yet she still sews (Image 1), which indicates that even though the girl committed an egregious act, the Bourgeoisie still depended on her labor because they still needed to meet the daily quota. While this definition suggests a black and white concept, ethnicity is often complex and misunderstood due to the breadth of the topic. Frequently in society, young people inherit their ethnic identity at birth based on the culture they are born into. However, during puberty they often begin to doubt/explore their identity and strive to discover what ethnic group they belong in and not just the one they were assigned. This complex process has spurred psychologists to delve into the phenomenon of how differing cultures undergo this process of finding themselves . This research has culminated into a theory based on stages of ethnic development by Phinney Ong. This paper will investigate further into this topic, in concern to Scarlett O Hara, a fictional character portrayed in the film classic Gone with the Wind . While many models exist to describe the phenomenon of ethnic identity, the model in question is the Ethnic Identity Development model proposed by Phinney and Ong in 1992. Their theory contains underpinnings of both Erikson and Marcia and is divided into three stages: Unexamined Ethnic Identity, Moratorium, and Ethnic Identity Achievement. Phinney s theory rests on the proposal that individuals begin in a state of indifference, confusion, or minimal awareness about their ethnicity, and move toward more complex, flexible, and informed ways ... Indeed, the works of Beethoven and the successors that he influenced have lived on because they possess a certain quality of enduring musical entrepreneurship. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, before the Romantic symphonists made further innovations to orchestration, which is the combination of instruments to produce various timbres and colors in any composition, Beethoven had completely revolutionized the ways in which future composers would come to think of how to construct a symphony. During the Classical period, prominent composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn came to define what the symphony was and how it should be orchestrated. In the eighteenth century, the orchestra was typically composed of strings (first and second violins, violas, cellos, and double basses), a limited woodwind section (two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets and two bassoons), a relatively small brass section (two to four horns and two trumpets), and a minor percussion section with only two timpani (Erb). The string section was considered to be the most important section, and the woodwinds would usually double with the strings to play the melody. This practice, in turn, made it so that there was great balance and clarity within pieces of the Classical era, though little diversity among the different instruments ( History of Classical Music ). How would the differing results inform a historian of the power of the Federal Government in comparison to the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution? (page 187). Shays Rebellion began because of the economic depression, insufficient harvests, and high duties, lead to farmers being seized and thrown in jail if they were unable to pay their taxes. This angered a large group in Massachusetts and a man named Daniel Shay, a Revolutionary war veteran, to arrange protests against the government. The Whiskey rebellion was triggered when George Washington s government placed a tax on distilled alcohol and whiskey. Protesters showed their discontent by tarring and feathering revenue officers, similar to those during the anti stamp act days. Although both rebellions were challenging the government, Shay s Rebellion revealed the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation as the national government could not tax, enforce laws or raise money for an army. Already weakened by the Revolutionary War, the Articles of Confederation could not defend against the rebellion. Rushdie has frequently described himself as a historian of ideas, and many of his novels are novels of ideas rather than narrations centered on a plot or character. 1 Furthermore, Rushdie s pessimistic views of religion are seen in his writings, from The Satanic Verses to recent essays like, Out of Kansas. I will also discuss the fatwa calling for his assassination and resulting in him being put under police protection by the British government. To begin, Rushdie was born into a Muslim family. Although Rushdie was a student of Islam, he claimed to be a lapsed Muslim. Ultimately, he expressed that he did not believe in supernatural entities, whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim or Hindu. Rushdie s outspoken work, The Satanic Verses caused great controversy in the Islamic world because of what was seen by some to be an irreverent depiction of Muhammad. Further proving contaminations in bottled water is another study in 2008 done by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) they analyzed the content of several water bottle brands. Some samples bought in California went over the limits for bottled water contaminants in that state, along with contaminants that could possibly cause cancer found in ... It does not look to grow quickly, but to take advantage of this niche. It is also expanding the ancillary markets to this niche in both music and video. Music and video have been a small portion of the Volcom portfolio (about 1% of earnings), but based upon the fact that the music and video arenas are wonderful marketing tools and that they are making, and not costing, profit they are worth much more than this 1%. The way the petals on the flowers were painted are very interesting, each of them were created with unique stroke of the brush. Picasso obviously wanted viewers to focus only flowers as the foreground and background were left somewhat rugged and undetailed. At first it may be hard to notice, however, it can be seen that the source of light for the picture is on the left as the right side is painted with slightly darker colors. When positioned directly in front of the painting the flowers actually do not seem as flowers at all. Only until you move farther back will the blurry strokes of white and red actually ... • 46. Rhetorical Analysis For Global Warming Global Warming is a huge problem for the environment. The earth s temperature has risen about 1 degree Fahrenheit since 1900 the temperatures are continuing to rise setting record temperature (Biello). This image is a public service announcement to turn off lights because it is a cause to global warming. In the image a penguin is pulling on a plug to turn out a light. This image evokes an emotional response because it has a baby penguin looking scared behind its mom, while the ice they are on is melting. It also illustrates a point that leaving lights on can cause global warming because it states it in the text. The light shining on the penguins looks like it is melting the ice they are standing on. I selected this image because it caught my eye and then made me read the text, which shows that it is an effective PSA. I also think global warming is a problem and I did not know that leaving lights on made such a big impact. This image can be analyzed by looking at the six rhetorical factors: character and action, setting, point of view, use of color, special effects, and image presentation. First, the characters and action in this advertisement make a large impact on this image. The penguins are struggling and are fearful for their lives. The animal s facial expressions express how they are distressed that the light is causing the ice they are standing on to melt. This displays how much of a problem global warming is and how we should be more fearful of the impact it is making in the colder climates. One sources states Specifically, more than two thirds of Antarctica s emperor penguin colonies will decline by more than 50 percent by the end of the century under future climate change scenarios (Palermo). This shows that global warming is truly hurting the penguins and many other animals similar. The picture suggests an action to turn off lights to help reduce the pollution. Second, the setting of the image takes place somewhere cold, which is the main area affected by global warming. The penguins are standing on a block of ice symbolizing the Arctic and the block of ice is melting. The Science Daily reports that ice melting rates were 25 times higher than expected in localized areas of Antarctica s largest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Why I Want Become A Paralegal It is a task in itself for one, such as myself, to allow another to fully grasp the principle of why I want to become a paralegal, let alone explain it within three pages without simply stating, I desire to use the set of skills and passion that I possess in order to help others while working within this specific field of law. Nevertheless, the reality of the fact is that it is purely the essence and core of why I have the drive and determination to work towards becoming a paralegal. I wish I could say, like many other have in the past and present, that I had always wanted to pursue a career in legal studies, but that is not the case here. As I entered university a mere five years ago, I came with the impression that I would obtain a Bachelor in History and eventually secure a position in the field of law. If that were to fail, I would become a Professor of History. That is not to say that teaching is not a noble and integral part of our society, which it indefinitely is; it would be an honour for anyone to teach however it was never truly for me. The fact is, about a year into university, I quickly realized/comprehended/recognized that teaching would simply be a scapegoat for the circumstance that I had yet to figure out what particular profession that I wanted to aim for in law. Needless to say it was a frightening conclusion for myself as it had been my aspiration to fully set my foot into the law atmosphere once I was finished with my education. It was not until ... • 48. Superhero Comparison Essay Superhero Compare and Contrast Why are Deadpool and Deathstroke so similar? Marvel and DC have both discretely plagiarized character ideas for decades. It seems a writer can not create an original idea for a superhero without copying a trait or personality from some other popular superhero character. When observing a biographical website or article about the newly created superhero Mouth Rot , a reader may recognize key features between Mouth Rot and other famous superheroes. Mouth Rot is similar in appearance and ability to Cyborg from the original Teen Titans TV show. He also shares similar backstory features to Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier in the Captain America and The Avengers movies. Mouth Rot s main plot line, personality, and some of his powers are similar to Deadshot in the Suicide Squad movie. However, Mouth Rot is not a completely plagiarized character, and has many unique attributes to his personality and morality. • 50. Migrant Workers Essay Migrant workers are people who leave their hometowns to live and work in other cities or countries. Everyday, there are people moving from one place to another, it may because of wanting to change a working condition, to break away from unemployment, or to find new opportunities for self development. Someone may against that they bring a lot of negative impact on the places they moved to live and work, but in my opinion, whenever in economic, cultural and social aspect, they bring much more advantages to those places. First, the diaspora makes positive impacts on the economy of a country. In the view of economy, when there are more people are looking for a job, which means the demand for jobs increased, a lower wages can be resulted, so that the country can be benefited by getting more and cheaper labour force, which would help increase the productivity of the country, the competitiveness of it increased. • 51. Cyber Security Case Study SEO: GDPR, cyber security Understanding GDPR Regulations What it Means for Cyber Security On May 25, 2018 the European Union will begin enforcing the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) that will create one data protection standard throughout the EU. These regulations were designed to create a unified standard for personal data privacy and to simplify the enforcement of data privacy laws throughout all EU countries. What some organizations are surprised to learn, is that these regulations go beyond the physical confines of the EU and apply to any organization that collects or holds information on EU citizens. This means that companies throughout the world need to understand and ensure compliance with GDRP guidelines if they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Organizations in control of the data must provide a free electronic copy of the data. Right to be forgotten: Covered data subjects have the right to have the organization in control of his/her personal data erase and stop using that data if they withdraw consent. When this happens, the organization s data controller must weigh the subjects rights vs. the public interest in the availability of the data. As you can see, GDPR creates a lot of new regulations surrounding data use. This is a short list of examples, but GDPR also includes rules for data portability, legitimate use of data for direct marketing, data profiling and more. How does this impact an organization s cyber security approach? While every company should always be considering the safety and security of information, GDPR is looking to ensure that organizations are taking data security seriously and incorporating it into the initial design of any new systems, as well as securing all existing systems. Many large companies collecting data on EU citizens will be required to employ a Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance and proper reporting. Similar to US HIPAA requirements, GDPR calls for organizations to limit personal data access to only those users that requires the specific data to perform his/her job. Organizations must also prove that appropriate network safeguards are in place to protect the privacy of the data. With the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
