daily life, including academics, work,
and social interactions. Deficits can
lead to problems with impulse
control, task completion, time
management, and emotional
regulation, impairing independent
functioning and adaptation to one's
environment.

Building Executive Function
To foster executive function skills in students, teachers can implement effective strategies
such as:
• Goal-Setting: Encourage students to set clear, achievable goals for their learning tasks.
Teach them to break down larger goals into smaller, manageable steps, fostering a sense
of direction and motivation.
• Scaffolding: Provide structured support and guidance to help students navigate
challenging tasks. Gradually reduce assistance as students develop their skills, promoting
independence and self-regulation.
• Metacognitive Reflection: Incorporate opportunities for students to reflect on their

1. English/Language Arts:

management.
- Teaching students strategies for effective reading comprehension and note-taking.

Essential for goal setting, decision- making, and problem-solving in daily life, including academics, work, and social interactions.
