  3. Используемые человеком слова довольно абстрактны. За «хорошо», «плохо», «красиво» стоят разные представления людей о доброте, зле и красоте. Построенные на них фразы не несут никакого смысла, пока не определены точные значения входящих в них переменных. Но человек в своей речи склонен опускать эти определения, считая, что всё и так понятно Общение по необходимости сильно отличается от общения для удовольствия - для человека нет ничего хуже навязанного общения.
  4. Люди исходно имеют когнитивные ограничения, которые исключают полное взаимопонимание. У каждого человека есть своё представление об окружающем мире, сформированное в ходе взаимодействия его уникальной психики с тем, что его окружает. Одно и то же событие воспринимаются людьми по-разному. Его интерпретация зависит от физического и психического состояния человека в момент события, его знаний, культуры и предыдущего опыта.

При открытии торгов акции продавались по цене $20. Ближайший конкурент фирмы стал открытой акционерной компанией год назад также при цене $20 за акцию. Сейчас одна акция конкурента стоит $100. Сколько будут стоить акции новой компании год спустя? Тверский и Канеман привели систематическое эмпирическое доказательство эффекта «якоря». В одном из исследований его участников попросили оценить процент африканских стран, входящих в ООН. Каждому участнику в качестве точки отсчёта дали случайно выбранное число (оно выбиралось при помощи рулетки, за которой наблюдали участники). Участников попросили сказать, больше или меньше этого случайного числа число африканских стран, а затем они должны были дать свой ответ. Оказалось, что случайные числа, выбранные с помощью рулетки, оказывали существенное влияние на оценки. К примеру, те, кто в качестве точки отсчёта получил числа «10» и «65», в среднем говорили: «25 стран» и «45 стран» соответственно. Таким образом, хотя участники и знали о том, что «якорь» был случайным и не имел никакого отношения к вопросу, он оказывал значительное влияние на их оценочные суждения.
