2. Background
Firstly, inserted a plain grey
background. I decided to use
this as my background,
because all my images
including my content would
stand out. Also, this goes
really well with the colours I
used, as they do not clash
with each other.
3. Header
Secondly, I inserted my
header, which says ‘20
PAGE SUMMER TOUR
SPECIAL’, I inserted this
on a yellow background, to
make the black text stand
out, and to also make it
eye catching for the
audience, so they have an
extra reason of why they
should buy this magazine.
4. Footer
Thirdly, I inserted a footer on
my front cover. I made sure
that it was the same size and
style as my header. This
makes my front cover look
more appealing and
attractive to the audience. I
used the footer, to reveal the
names of bands/artists who
are also featured in my
magazine, to further intrigue
them into buying my
magazine.
5. Masthead
I added my masthead on top
of my front cover, below my
masthead. I used a very
funky/rock style font for my
masthead, to make my
magazine look like a rock
magazine. I used red and
white colours to make my
cover stand out and to also
make my cover attract the
reader.
6. Flash
I used a flash to inform the
reader of the price of my
music magazine. The use of
the colour red makes the
flash stand out on the page,
so the reader is aware of how
much my music magazine is
for as soon as they lay their
eyes on the cover.
7. Left-Third
I then added in my left third,
to give the reader brief
information of the contents of
the magazine and what will
be included. I used the
combination of two colours,
to make my left third stand
out. The colours go really
well together, as the do not
clash, and adds to the rock
style of my front cover.
8. Main Image / Name
I inserted the main image of the
artist in the middle of the page. She
is leaning forward with her arm
stretched out in front of her doing
the rock sign with her hands,
making it look like a 3D
dimensional image. I then inserted
the name of the artist diagonally on
the image, to give clear indication
of the name of the artist in the
image to the audience. I have used
the same colours for the font as I
did for my header and footer. The
colour yellow really stands out on
my front cover. The effect of this is
to grab the audience’s attention.
9. Pull Quote
I inserted a pull quote just
below the name of the artist,
to indicate that It is a direct
quote coming from the artist
“BIGGER and BETTER with
support from my fans”. The
effect that a pull quote has on
the reader is that it makes
them intrigued and they are
persuaded to buy the
magazine, because they
want to read the full article.
10. Flash
I inserted another flash, to
give the reader a brief
summary of what else they
will read inside the magazine.
This flash informs the reader
of the history of fused. This
will gain the reader’s interest,
as they would want to know
how fused came about and
how it became so successful.
It also made to look very eye
catching, through the use of
yellow and black.
