2. What is a COMPUTER?
• Computer is an Electronic device which takes
input and processes it to give us output.
Computer has following components:
Input devices
Output devices
C.P.U(Central Processing Unit)

• C.P.U is abbreviated as Central Processing Unit.
• C.P.U is considered as brain of computer.It is also
called as processor.

5. Input devices
• Input devices are used to enter the
commands,programs,images as well as devices which
are used to control various operations related to games
and graphics.
• Ex : Mouse,Keyboard,Scanner e.t.c.

6. Output devices
• Output prefers to the device which is used to the
present data processed by computer to the outside
world.
• Ex: Monitor,Printer e.t.c.

7. MOTHER BOARD
• The major part of PC hardware is mother board on
which the system component can be installed.
• It manages all transactions of data between C.P.U.
and peripherals.
• Ex: Bios,Main memory,Input output chips,ports of
keyboard,RAM,Graphic card,North bridge,South
bridge,Processor ,ATX connector.

• CD ROM DRIVE: CD ROM(compact disc read only
memory).
• It is adaptation of CD i.e. designed to store computer
data in form of text and graphic as well as hi-fi stereo
sounds

11. • HARD DISK DRIVE: Hard disk is often called as
hard drive disk drive.
• Most computer have one drive locate inside computer
case.
• If computer has one hard drive it is called drive-c.
• If computer has additional drives they are called
drives- d ,e ,f .
