Use Cases
Political Parties
 Show the typical structure of a political party
 Show the assembly level team , ward level
then booth level .
 Party workers major responsibility , collecting
the governance failure points , reporting it to
the top brash , so that they can connect with
people with moving speeches based on
these facts and figures.
 Now with technology , we are easing the job
of a party worker , it’s easy for him to raise the
issue , it’s well documented can be used by
many , worker’s effort does not go waste.
 More ever, technology allows that whenever
complain is raised, to show the person
responsible for handling governance related
issues from that point/area, thus making the
platform even more successful ( MLA gets
required visibility)
 Saving his advertisement budget
 Typical spending, close to a Crore , per
assembly constituency.
 With this it will come down to 1 lakh ,
making it close to zero .
 Numbers:
total big cities : 6
total assembly constituencies : 227
size per constituency : 2-3 lakh voters
typical Constituency size(area) : 40-50 km^2
Smartphone penetration 20% .
40-50 thousand ppl. Per constituency.
Lot of visibility.
10,000 Average margin between winner & Loser
Social Activist
 Social Activist , Apart from being watchdog of
any social Injustice, they also participate in
ensuring various government agencies are
working as per the norms, & In the best
interest of people.
 Without constant feedback , anybody can
loose sight , Watchdog/Activism ( keen
interest by civil society) is very important for
whole public management structure to
function smoothly.
 Social Activist again have hierarchy , one
inspecting the policy level stuff & Other watching
out the ground level implementation of that.
 Ground level implementation is heavily assisted by
RTI act /Citizen Charter.
 As we all know , How any development policy
influences common people lives, basically , in form
of ensuring continuous access to basic amenities ,
because economies like ours , most of the other
stuff is taken care of by private Sector ( people
passing their times by serving each other).
 Whether we are ensuring high quality for
these needs , feedback/complaint has to
come from the grounds , coupling with RTI
, Activist can bring out corruption/mis-
governance in front of people , but data
has to be generated by people.
 In the end , if none is troubled , then who
cares if some paper (paper money) was
inappropriately used.
 So to get the data , activist does not have to go anywhere , data
comes to them , Example
 Roads : if there is a road, done poorly , most using that if just tap
out , their experience with the road , data will be available for map
analytics later , platform serving as a oracle for poor
governance/corruption instances.
 Making RTI activist job easier.
 It will not be surprising to see consolidation in RTI filing , we may see
emergence of few powerful RTI filing institutes , selling their
subscription at nominal rates , pay Rs. 50/month and get as many
RTI filed in area of your concern , Since many people will be asking
for Same thing , thus saving duplication , but still effective .
 RTI ‘s outcome can then be put up in very easy to understand form
, in any open forum , thus people can be united and pressure can
be easily built.
Press/Local Media
 Media is no different than organized and
evolved social activists.
 Social Activist are active on ground ,
media/journalists are active on paper.
 They are out there to critically evaluate
governance , bring out the mis-
governance /corruption in the knowledge
of masses.
 They too need data from the ground.
Common Man
 Things can’t get any better than this.
 We matter only if , number is there.
 To get the number, all need to participate.
 No one will participate till one can easily
incorporate the solution , in their day to day
life.
 So, no strings attached , do your duty , if thing
are not up to the mark, provide your
feedback/complaint.
 Each effected one tweets for himself.
 Participatory democracy can be a reality.
