This document discusses moving beyond traditional textbooks towards digital textbooks and instructional materials. It notes that some states and school districts are beginning to require that schools provide digital content that covers all required curriculum standards. Concerns are raised about issues like internet access, student devices, teacher readiness, and literacy. However, many schools and districts around the world have already implemented digital textbooks and materials with large numbers of students and teachers. The shift towards more informational and complex texts is also discussed as an important change brought about by digital materials.
