2. People have many qualities about themselves that would cause a barrier between
themselves and co workers. An example of this would be a disabled employee in a
company.
Being in a wheelchair would cause this worker to be thrown to the bottom of the pile
and not being able to complete specific tasks given like any other person would.
Tasks such as carrying equipment around and working in small offices are beneath them
as they are not able to move around as easily as others.
Another example of a personal barrier
would be a mental illness such as
‘Anxiety’ Anxiety is a stress disorder
which is most common in students or
workers. Due to the amount of stress
from work it can cause panic attacks to
occur, lowering the work rate of a
person and communication between
workers.

3. Considering who are you writing for and how to do that correct.
One big possible barrier to written communication is common mistakes of writing
letters formal or informal, as well as who are you writing for and choosing which one
is the one you exactly need.
This barrier can probably cause some confinements if you sent for example your boss
informal letter as him being a miss, therefore to overcome this possible barrier you
will need to collect any possible information it is available, that includes whether the
person is Mr/ Miss/ Mrs or simply Ms if you not sure.
You will also need to consider whether you are writing a formal or informal letter.
Formal letters are being sent for the people such your boss for example wherever
the letter needs professionalism.
Informal letters may have some little meanings and simple words, therefore they are
usually short and not as important, for example chatting to friend on Facebook, the
person who well knows you and you well know him/her.

4. Written communication is a skill to express your ideas clearly on written
work or any other document.
Written communication can be expressed as a letter, memo, email,
presentation or anywhere else.
it is important to be able to express yourself in written form so you can
look professional in front of employers.
Writing is effective when your communication has a clear purpose and it
achieves it’s purpose well.
If you write a letter your spelling and punctuation must be correct. This is
because the reader may not understand all the words or think you have not
given enough time to communicate clearly.
If any of these things are not achieved then it makes you look
unprofessional. An example of when this might affect you is when applying
for a job.

5. High walls in cubicles and closed office doors can hinder effective interpersonal
skills as work colleagues feel like they can’t talk to each other as they can’t see
each other. This prevents workers effectively communicating with their managers
and this can lead to a business having conflicts within the workplace.
There can also be cultural and language differences, this may make the person
feel left out and not part of a social group as they don’t know what the person is
saying or they don’t agree with them. When workers use jargon and other
buzzwords that are not native to that language it can be harder to fully
understand and speak the language further impeding acceptance. This can lead
to a group of people not being able to express ideas and prevent the business
improving.
Gender issues are also barriers as male dominant workplaces prevent women
from having they’re ideas accepted, they may also be treated differently whether
being mean or talked to in a different manner. This can lead to workers feeling
uncomfortable in their workplace as they don’t “fit in” and can’t get along as well
as other male/female workers.
