5. Absence Policy
Students Under 17: They have ten days they can be absent
without being excused. Excuses consist of court dates,
doctor’s appointments, or funerals. If students miss ten
days and are under 17 years old, they will be taken to
Truancy Court. We have five students who were referred
this fall.
Students 17 and Over: They are given 16 absences, and they
will be dropped with No Credit. Students’ grades are
reinstated for the NC status, if they attend every day after
the NC is given. Eight Students were given a NC in
November, but all attended and were able to recover their
grades by December 20th.

for the semester.
• Out of those: 99 were on
the list for D’s only and did
not fail a class.
