- Degree is a full 4 years of study or 120 credits in a specific field Applied Degree is the same as a degree, but it is more of a hands on or practical learning environment An Associate Degree is 2 years of study in a specific program area with the intent to transfer into a specific program at an University and finish the degree there. Diploma is 2 years of study in a specific area. Certificate programs can run anywhere from several months to a year Continuing Studies are courses or options in Specific areas of interest. These can be used to upgrade or get your feet wet.
