Does a LMS fit learner-centered learning? <ul><li>An LMS </li></ul><ul><li>has boundaries (behind pw) </li></ul><ul><li>it can cost a lot </li></ul><ul><li>It seldom feels natural </li></ul><ul><li>it is barely customizable by the user him/herself </li></ul><ul><li>… and let’s face it who would want to use it if the had a choice? </li></ul><ul><li>=> implementing social media, multimedia and quizzes into one learner-centered course does not require a LMS </li></ul>

  7. 7. What needed to be put into place? <ul><li>Training for those not familiar with social media logic (e-course in the agora) </li></ul><ul><li>Introduction to some social media specifics (e.g. use an openID) </li></ul>

What needs to be looked at? <ul><li>Customization of the learning environment </li></ul><ul><li>Look at different learners and see whether all of the types of learners feel comfortable, or whether the use of social media increases the threshold for some </li></ul><ul><li>Security censorship by some company firewalls preventing learners to access all the material </li></ul>
