We chose to base our short film on the featurette from ‘The
Artist’ and decided that our featurette would be called ‘The
Masterpiece’.
We will start research for our ancillary tasks.

This week we started to plan for our first ancillary task. For this
we analysed three film posters, this gave us an idea of how a
film poster should be set out.
We will begin to create our ancillary 1 product.

done this we did some more research by watching examples of

taking on board the different elements so that when we make
our short film we can incorporate different aspects into our

We analysed and wrote about one featurette (the artist) using
Lacey’s repertoire of elements. We included ideas for our own
featurette.
We will start to plan for our featurette.

We checked the grammar and spelling of our script and then read
through it, timing how long it took to get from the start to the end.
We put the script into a word document and uploaded it.
We are going to practice filming with the cameras.

We went out around the college and did some practice shots with
the cameras to get used to them and practice the different shots
so that we know what we are doing when it comes to creating our
final product.

This week we carried on with other bits of coursework such as
product research, we also made sure that we had uploaded
finished work to our blogs.
We are going to start looking for locations to film our
production.

We found locations for our shoots and asked people we thought
suited the roles to be in our short film.
We will make sure everyone knows what they are doing
and find a time when everyone is available to film.
