1. Question 5- How did you
attract/address your audience?
Tension Building Music
The music that I choose was mainly influenced by my chosen audience because I
wanted to catch there attention. The audience I am targeting are people that love to
watch action films and I think the music that I have chosen is very action based. The
music builds the tension of chase and the chase and people usually come to watch an
action film for the adrenaline and to watch something that is as fur as reality as
possible and I feel the music does this.
A Chase Scene
The chase scene would attracted my audience because it creates a fast pace action
piece which I think could link to the fast pace of the audiences life's. The age range of
my target audience is 18 to 44 and this age group, I think, in general have fast pace
and busy life's and I think the chase scene relates to this.
Young and Attractive woman
From my research men are the main viewers of action films and because of this I
wanted my film opening to appeal to men but also women. The main character is
young and attractive and this I thought would attract male viewers. Also I wanted to
woman to appeal to female viewers by having her the main character. Having the
main character being a woman in an action film I thought would challenge
stereotypes of women and I think the female and male audience will like this. This I
thought addressed young women and men.
Enigma Codes
In the opening I left the audience with enigma codes because I wanted the audience
to want know the answers to these questions. People like to know answers to things
and this is the instinct that I wanted to trigger when my audience watch the opening,
I want them to want to know the answers and the only way to know them is to watch
on.
Credits and Title
I wanted the credits to stay with the fast pace of the chase so the audience wouldn't
get bored or would watch the credits with a similar interest as the chase scene. I
wanted the credits to flow so I created them so they would move and I think this
attract the audience more then if they were still. The movement of the title sequence
links to the setting I of the chase scene and I think this attract the reader.
The title “The Pursuit” I think attracts the audience because it short and attracts the
action loving audience, because I think the title is interpreted as being an action
based film.
