2 (c) โIn the past 100 years, global temperatures have risen and fallen regularly. There is
no reason to think that global warming is happening.โ
How far do you agree with this statement? Support your answer using evidence.
Global cooling was recorded in the past 100 years as a result of
industrial pollution and volcanic activity which led to global dimming.
However, global temperatures have also reached itโs highest levels in
the past 100 years. Although the majority of scientists believe that
global warming is taking place, some skeptics believe that this may
not be the case. These skeptics suggest that the variations in
temperature are part of the natural cycles of fluctuation.
Good answers should show evidence of a debate and show the types of
evidence put forward by both sides or evidence to support โhow farโ.
LEVEL 1 (0-3marks)
Generalised answers with minimal support
