2. These are our location shots for our horror film, we have decided to set it in a
normal house to suggest to the audience that nothing bad is going to happen.
The house will contrast with the action in the film. In our film we are starting
off with some establishing shots of the house, these will be taken from the
street facing the front of the house.
This is the front of the
house, these first two
shots will be our
establishing shot, which
shows the audience where
the scene will take place.
3. The second shot will be of Lucy as she getting
ready to get into the bath, This will take place
in the bathroom. Lucy will spend the whole
time of the begging of our film in the bath
room as she is getting a bath, this will suggest
to the audience that she is venerable and
innocent. The brightness of the colour yellow
on the walls will first of all make the film seen
bright but later on will contrast with the
action in the film, This is misleading to the
audience and will bring a sense of confusion to
the film.
4. We will use the
back garden and
back door to
show how Danny
will get into the
house. The
camera will be
POV shots of
what Danny's seeing, so the audience still doesn't
know what is approaching the house, whether its
human or ghostly. This will add tension to the
film and make the audience feel on edge and
uncomfortable. We can take this shot in one shot,
panning the camera around the house and end
on a close up of Danny opening the back door.
5. This shot will take place in the bathroom, the scene
will keep coming back to the bathroom to resemble a
safe place for the audience, but this will be destroyed
later on in the film which will come as more of a
shock for the audience. This shot is a close up of Lucy
in the bath shouting her boyfriends name as she can
hear noises from down stairs.
6. This shot will be a POV shot of what Danny is seeing as he is walking
though the house. The house will look like a completely normal house so it
doesn’t hint to the audience that something could happen. The house will
look peaceful and happy with its bright colours and calming atmosphere.
7. This is the hall way just outside of the bathroom door
(first door to the left). As this scene will be short at
night the long hallways will add uncertainty and
tension to the atmosphere of the film. Long corridors
and hall ways are also stereotypically associated with
horror films, and will add a spooky effect to the film.
The bright colours on the walls will give the audience
false reinsurance as the main action is yet to happen.
In this shot Lucy will poke her head out of the door to
check if her boyfriend is home, but she will return to
the bathroom when she sees and hears nothing.
8. The rest of the shots will all take place in the bathroom, The yellow walls
will contrast with the action in the film, creating a disturbing effect. The
normality of a bathroom will turn to a scary place for the audience, which
will disturb them and at to the afraid feeling of the film. The dark light
outside the window will suggest that no one is outside and suggest that
no one can help, which leaves Lucy helpless and the audience will fear for
her.
