Time Traveler Persuasive Essay
The Persian Empire
The Persians were an empire controlling enough land one would think of as impossible. It is the
largest and strongest empire of it's time under the control of Darius I. An empire like this should never
be visited. The Persians are not the kind of people to share ideas with. They are warriors, conquered
people acted like guests already, and they keep most of their ideas to themselves.
The Persians have strong warriors that are always conquering nearby lands. They are not an
empire to visit because they are more concentrated on expanding their empire. Warriors are always
expanding Persia and in war, therefore they have attitudes that are not the friendliest. Visitors would
constantly be surrounded by war talk and treated rudely by the Persian people. Visitors could start
problems such as stealing war techniques. They also might disturb the process of expanding the empire
and should not bother visiting.
People who live outside of the Persian empire know not to bother visiting the Persians. When
Cyrus the Great ruled the empire he made an agreement with the prisoners. Conquered people were to
keep their religion and speak their own languages. The people who were conquered by the Persians
were treated like guests compared to people conquered by other empires. If prisoners are treated like
guest why should visitors from different countries come, it would only cause more people crowding in
the Persian Empire.
The Persians have such a big empire and many trade roads. They have started the development
of using coins when trading goods, too. Having such a big empire and wanting to keep it all under
control needs a lot of work. Also, since the empire is very good with trade they had to keep trade under
2. control too. They had to make trade items so that they could keep having success with trade. Having to
think about war, expanding the empire, and trade, visitors would just stand in the way of making the
empire better. People could steal trade ideas making the Persian empire have their goods sold
somewhere else for a better price.
Visitors could come to Persia and learn some of the Persian traditions. They could learn more
about foods or a new language. Although they could learn new things that would not hurt the empire,
but many people would probably be rude and stubborn because of the constant atmosphere of winning
wars and expanding the empire. People who visit might have their land taken over and added on into
the Persian empire in years to come. There are traditions people who visit Persia could learn about, the
visitors would still stand in the way of making the empire bigger and better.
The largest and strongest empire of its time is better left with its inhabitants and no one else.
Visitors would be treated badly and anyway the Persians already have their conquered people who are
treated like guests. Also, people are too busy with keeping the empire strong and large. Visitors would
be in the way. Therefore, the Persian empire should not be visited and instead only be heard about or
read about.
