When we want to express impossible
or unlikely situations, we use
SECOND CONDITIONAL.
Today’s recipe: S.C. cake
 Mix ‘If’ with the past.
 Add a little comma
 Join the mix with a
sentence in
conditional (would
/’d/+ verb)
Now it’s ready to
serve! Bon Appetite!
What’s the difference between…
 Second Conditional
(S.C)
If I had enough money, I
would buy an expensive
car.
(It’s just a dream, not
very real. )
 First Conditional (F.C)
If I have enough money, I
will buy some shoes.
(It’s much more possible
than the last situation)
Note: Verb ‘to be’ in S.C. is WERE in
every person.

Lend me your ears and
I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out
of key.
