Zero Conditional – To talk about facts, to express general
truths, to give instructions and advice.
E.g.: If you heat ice, it melts.
First Conditional – To talk about something possible or
probable in the present or future; to make promises and
offers.
E.g.: If you go out now, you’ll get wet.
Second Conditional – To talk about unreal/hypothetical
situations in the present/future; to give advice.
E.g.: If I were you, I would go to the dentist as soon as
possible.
