• Very similar to Synergy
• Business Studies term which refers to companies
coming together vertically or horizontally.
• Very similar to Synergy, cross media convergence
involves media products whereas synergy can
involve non media products.
• cross-media convergence also applies to
marketing strategies whereby products are
marketed using print, web, film and TV.
Definition - cross-media convergence is the way that different products are produced
and distributed on different platforms using different media resources. E.g. the Guardian
used to be a purely paper-based media product. Now it's produced and distributed
through apps available on smart phones and tablets and the website, etc.
