2. Who: Both young children and adults
What: Children don’t know how to identify different fresh
fruits and vegetables
When: When they are shopping, in a restaurant or on
television
Where: It occurs when you are looking for new fruits to taste
Why: Most students don’t have the opportunity to learn about
the range of fruits and vegetables unless their parents
choose to go through it with them. Shopping can be
stressful for parents so educating them whilst they shop can
be difficult.
3. The problem is…
Children in the UK and USA have difficulty in identifying fruits
and vegetables when they are fresh. They have very little
education on the subject in school and it is dependent on
their parents being motivated to help them learn.
4. Q. Can children identify common fruits and vegetables
Q. Can children identify less common fruits and vegetables
Q. How can children remember what fruits are called and
what they look like?
Q. Where can you buy the fruits and vegetables locally?
5. Q. Can children identify common fruits and vegetables – no they can’t
Q. Can children identify less common fruits and vegetables – no they can’t
Q. How can children remember what fruits are called and what they look like? – no
they need reinforcement, this might be a good platform to introduce some aspect
of gaming to our app
Q. Where can you buy the fruits and vegetables locally?- we could go onto a
different website (local supermarket) and search, but this would be
inconvenient… it is much better being integrated into the app

They are all school aged. They all study some aspect of food
technology and food preparation in primary schools. They all study ICT
at primary school – can we merge the two: food tech and ICT?
