 There are many methods how the products can be listed.
 Getting your products listed in Amazon Market Place is the first step for the
retailer.
 When you sign up for an Amazon seller account (Professional or
Individual), you will get access to Seller Central dashboard.
 New products can be created from this dashboard. Amazon provides
detailed documentation and training videos on their Help portal.
Listing Types
 The listing action can be of below types.
 First time listing of new products in Amazon. These products do not exist in
Amazon and you are listing for the first time.
 Same product is already available in Amazon and you are adding your offering
your product as additional seller
 Let us see how you can make your product listing more efficient in both
the cases
Listing New Products in Amazon
 When a new product is listed for the first time, Amazon will need two
information. One is the Category and second is the product identification
code.
 Category tells Amazon where to list this product - For example, is it to be
listed under Clothes or Sports Goods etc.
 Listing the product under the right category is very important as customers
will find your product under the category search in Amazon.
 Depending upon the category, Amazon will ask for category specific
information like Color , Size, Weight etc.
Listing New Products in Amazon
 Second is the Product Identification code.
 Amazon needs either UPC code or ISBN code or EAN number as the case
may be.
 If you are the original manufacturer of the item, you will have to buy the
UPC code and assign it to the product.
 Otherwise get the UPC code from the original manufacturer.
 Image is very important for successful listing in Amazon.
 Good quality images of size not less than 1000 pixels.
Adding to Existing Products in Amazon
 Someone else might have already done the hard work of listing the
product and you as the smart seller has to just add your offering and have
competitive price strategy to sell the products more than the competition.
 Using the UPC code of the product, it is possible to search for the product
and add yours as a new offering. In this case, category mapping is not
needed as the product is already listed and you are just adding your
offering.
Bulk Listing of Products in Amazon
 The business volume from Amazon is directly proportionate to the number
of products in your Amazon Marketplace stores.
 So listing more products increases chances of selling more products.
 More than 3000-4000 products listed will result in good order volume. But
manually listing one by one is not possible for thousands of products.
 Amazon provides bulk upload facility with data files. In case of listing new
products for the first time, category specific templates are to be used.
 For adding your product to existing listing, item upload template from
Amazon can be used.
Automated Listing of Products in
Amazon
 Amazon provides Web Services to upload data in XML format (MWS).
 This will need programming knowledge or you can use one of the system
integration providers like Synerfy to automate the process of listing
thousands of products.
 Especially if you are a drop shipper and getting updated catalog feeds
every day, you will need an automated system that will push and
synchronize the catalog to Amazon.
Pricing Strategy
 Correct Pricing is a key to getting the sale in Amazon.
 Even though each product listing has more than 10 suppliers in Amazon
Market Place, it is the seller with the lowest total price ( basic
price+shipping) is likely to get the order from the customer.
 The pricing should vary according to the price offered by other sellers.
 Amazon shows the current least price in the seller central when you list the
products.
 You can periodically adjust the price to be the competitive priced seller.
 Also the product listing automation tools mentioned above can do the
automatic price adjustments also according to pre-defined settings.

 Listing more number of products in Amazon is one of the key strategy to
sell more and get more profits.
 Drop shipping from a large vendor will give access to variety of products
to be listed in Amazon.
 With correct pricing strategy, sales can be increased.
 Use an automation product to manage the listings, inventory
synchronization etc as you can focus more on the business development
with the right automation tool.

Product Listing in Amazon  There are many methods how the products can be listed.  Getting your products listed in Amazon Market Place is the first step for the retailer.  When you sign up for an Amazon seller account (Professional or Individual), you will get access to Seller Central dashboard.  New products can be created from this dashboard. Pricing Strategy  Correct Pricing is a key to getting the sale in Amazon.  Even though each product listing has more than 10 suppliers in Amazon Market Place, it is the seller with the lowest total price ( basic price+shipping) is likely to get the order from the customer.  The pricing should vary according to the price offered by other sellers.  Amazon shows the current least price in the seller central when you list the products.  You can periodically adjust the price to be the competitive priced seller.  Also the product listing automation tools mentioned above can do the automatic price adjustments also according to pre-defined settings.
