2. Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
3. Linking the three texts - Typography There’s a distinct colour theme used with red and black being used for the font in both the poster and the trailer, as well as the main colours on the magazine being red, white and black.
4. Images The poster uses a romantic setting as the background which clearly fits with the genre convention and links it to our trailer. It also includes a still from the trailer including the two main characters. Similarly, the image used for the magazine cover is a still however it’s only of the male lead which could obviously be improved upon by including an image of the girl too.
5. References to genre From our audience feedback, it’s clear that the genre of our trailer is immediately apparent through the plot, title screens and also soundtrack. This is supported by the references to other films of the same genre that I’ve used on the magazine cover.
